MN: Cardinale’s mission about to take flight – the talents of Milan Futuro

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan want to go back to being able to bring talents through their youth system at a higher rate and there are already a number of candidates to make the jump.

As MilanNews repots, one of the first points established as part of Gerry Cardinale’s ownership was the reconstruction of the youth sector, a concept that has been reiterated several times also by Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his public appearances.

Milan Futuro is not only the name of the team that will take part in the next Serie C championship, but it is a mission of the club that has the objective of developing their best talents with the aim – through a shared and structured path – of making them permanent first team players.

Francesco Camarda is the most talked about player and the Futuro will be an important step for him too. While he has excelled against players that are sometimes three or four years older, Serie C is a very tough and physical league where he will be sent into battle every week.

Kevin Zeroli is another name that continues to be talks about, a modern midfielder with a box-to-box role who has technical ability and strong character too. He was captain of Ignazio Abate’s Primavera side and decisive in the UEFA Youth League, with the management’s plan to have him as part of the wider first team and Futuro group, like Camarda.

Mattia Liberali also showed interesting things in the 45 minutes played in the friendly against Rapid Wien on Saturday and is a very bright prospect. Those who know him well speak of a very high ceiling and a touch with the ball that is almost magnetic.

The likes of Vittorio Magni, Diego Sia and Christian Comotto must be added to the list as Milan’s U23 team will take on a very Italian core, one that will hopefully yield the next stars of the first team.

    1. €100 million on transfers last season.
€20 million to clean up the area around the new stadium.
      €20+ million on Futuro.
A budget in the range of €80 million this season.

Yep, no ambition and cheap. Damn those Americans!

      1. Ah yes sounds great on paper while in reality they cant close 20mil transfers and are constantly getting beaten to their targets by other clubs lol.

      2. 120 millions (80 millions came from Tonali sale) on averages players with each having a price tag of 20 millions, 60 millions spent on 3 MC and we are still hunting for DM and an offensive one, American ownership aren’t that ambitious

        1. And think we will have no Italian in the UCL team this year. We are worse than Inter used to be some years ago…

      3. A budget in the range of 80 millions? Really? Where do you get that stuff man? And you’re trying to sell it here as somekind of a fact.

        Easy on the shrooms kiddo.

  1. This is the way for a poorish team like Milan to compete. Generating home grown talent to sell or build out the first team. I guess you shouldn’t auction off everything like a Barcelona but this also means that you have to be honest with the fan base and ticket prices.

  2. As long as they have chance to enter senior squad 1-2 years later .This 3 italian can be key player for future: camarda , zeroli , liberali. Not ending like cutrone, colombo, danie, plizari etc
