Three of Lazio’s most important players are suffering with the flu and could find themselves missing the match against AC Milan on Friday night.
As has been reported by Milan News, Ivan Provedel, Nicolo Casale and Alessio Romagnoli have all got the flu and are struggling to recover in time for Friday’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico.
All three players started the Monday night defeat away against Fiorentina and played the full 90 minutes, and they are the Biancocelesti’s first-choice goalkeeper and centre-back pairing. Milan have had better news when it comes to defensive fitness.
Whilst those three players could miss out, Nicolo Rovella and Patric will definitely miss the match thanks to their injuries.
The team will be resting on Wednesday before they then resume training at Formello on Thursday to undergo some of the final match preparations.
Given it was a day after the match, players who started the game such as Luis Alberto, Matteo Guendouzi, Danilo Cataldi and Manuel Lazzari all underwent personal training programmes, whilst others took part in the full group session.
Lazio are now 13 points behind Milan in the Serie A table and look to be outsiders for a place in the top four, with fourth-placed Bologna having eight more points than Maurizio Sarri’s side with 12 games to play.
