MN: Tonali to watch Italy-England at San Siro and return to Milanello tomorrow

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will soon have midfielder Sandro Tonali back at his disposal as he left the Italy camp today.

As reported by MilanNews, Tonali will not be available for Italy’s match against England in the Nations League group stages. The Rossoneri midfielder has just left the national team’s training retreat and will not travel with the group even to Hungary.

Instead, Tonali will be in the stands at San Siro tonight to cheer on his team-mates against Gareth Southgate’s men, while from tomorrow he will be available to coach Stefano Pioli as he will return to Milanello.

It does not give much insight into how serious his problem is, especially given that Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reported earlier today that he is actually not expected to be available for the first game back after the break against Empoli and instead will target Chelsea in the Champions League.
