MN: Two weeks until Torino – signings awaited to build on positive friendlies

Two weeks from today, AC Milan will officially kick off their 2024-25 season against Torino at San Siro, and the pieces are starting to fall into place.

As MilanNews write, the signs have been positive in the friendlies, and the performance levels have increased from that 1-1 draw against Rapid Wien in Austria. The words of Paulo Fonseca in his first press conference made his ideas clear, and the pitch is showing that he is getting them across.

His training methods have garnered appreciation from the fans, and it is the victories in the United States (3-2 against Manchester City and 1-0 against Real Madrid) that have boosted the excitement levels.

Beyond the results, we have already seen very interesting playing principles, with a possession-based style and some young players playing with confidence that is well beyond their years, like Mattia Liberali and Lorenzo Torriani.

Of course, further reinforcements may well arrive from the transfer market before that Torino game. Fonseca deserves to be helped by the management, and more bodies should join Alvaro Morata and Strahinja Pavlovic.

The Rossoneri coach will still need a right-back (Emerson Royal is very close), a midfielder with defensive characteristics (negotiations continue for Youssouf Fofana) and another striker (Tammy Abraham is liked).
