AC Milan needed to add a central defender in the summer, and when Strahinja Pavlovic was elected to be added to the squad things seemed rather positive. However, the Serbian defender has been absent recently, and questions are being asked.
When it comes to summer signings, there is always a period of embedment into the squad, and perhaps we can argue Pavlovic is currently experiencing that. When you consider the start to the season he had though, there is a deeper worry.
Against Parma, Lazio, Venezia and Liverpool, Pavlovic was present throughout the full ninety minutes. Looking at the games against Inter, Lecce and Fiorentina, the Serb has played just one minute, a notable drop-off, leading Milan News to question where he is.
In the opening games, he was one of the few players to earn credit, being named as one of the better performers in the team, but since the Liverpool game, he has found himself stuck to the bench. Whilst his performance was poor, the report questions why Tomori has not seen similar punishments given he has also been poor.
As a whole, hope is not lost about the young defender, and the international break – where he will play a large part – should help him refind his rhythm.

where is Pavlovic ?
I guess the answer is that he is busy learning to distinguish friends from foes when passing.
😁😁😁 Absolutely right
At least his not busy stealing the ball from the designated penalty taker. So there’s also that…
*he’s
Sell Tomori he’s medioker thats why chelsea sold him to Milan, bring back simic n kalulu, make gabbia central defender. Bring back colombo n give him more minutes playing.
If Fonseca has any balls, he’s playing next match along side Gabbia at least if not more.
Simple, Gabbia is better and Tomori has the experience and status
Tomori is key to our defensive system , if you bench Tomori you have to bench Theo Hernandez or ask theo to not attack and that just dumb , Tomori is the only defender we get who can cover the left side of the center back because of his speed and ability to play one against one without him the opponents will have all the space needed to have their way with milan just like inter did in that 5 _ 1 game without tomori
You could also have the left cb shift to cover the lb, and the DM shift a little lower to cover the left cb.
Tomori should be out – brainless oaf.
Weak against one one one, weak against the long ball, weak against the high press.. bench then sell
Against Udinese Fonseca better bench Tomori and Abraham and play Gabbia-Pavlovic as CBs and Jovic-Morata up top ( thou its more likely we’ll see R-L-C and Morata)
Is Bartesaghi banned from Udinese game as well or will he be available?
Guess Jimenez will play to the left then. Unless Fonseca choses Pavlovic there who can play LB, to give is favorite pet Tomori another chance.
Tomori should be benched in my opinion. Gabbia – Pavlovic pairing will be great for Milan.
@ Societyfoe. I totally agree. Tomori should be sold too. There’s a reason why he can’t even make the England squad. He’s not a good defender. Pavlovic is better and he will improve with time. But he needs to play alongside Gabbia.
Milan need to move some players out and Tomori is definitely one of them.
“AC Milan needed to add a central defender in the summer”
First can the editors please learn to distinguish between facts and opinions.
Second in my OPINION no we didn’t. We needed a DM. We still don’t have one (Fofana isn’ one although he’s done better of late).
What we really need is leaders, something Maldini, Boban and Massara understood well when they fought hard to convince the board to allow Zlatan and kjear to join. They changed everything when they arrived and I think we are back in a similar position
One of those leaders is Gabbia who Fonseca tried to replace and was then forced to bring back.
And he’ll be forced to bring back Calabria who he also tried to replace (with Emerson Royal).
They are not anywhere near the level they need to be at atm. Neither of them have that aura, the authority to command, the experience at the very top nor the skill to impress. I have belief that Gabbia can reach that level, but we are speaking 10 years in a successful milan first. We need someone who have been there done that and have respect from the group and the spine to slap them when they move out of line. Leao was a different beast with zlatan next to him
They are exactly what we need to be a TEAM.
Calabria is a proven Scudetto winning, not up for debate RB who has marked the best wingers in the world out of games.
Gabbia was our best CB last season.
I know they’ll never reach the imaginary level that it’s in your head (10 years for Gabbia!) but we need to start respecting these players if we are ever to return to the top.
Imaginary level? Calabria was here before and after we acquired them. Clearly he doesn’t change anything in the group mentality. Exactly what the team needs? He have been in the team all the time, don’t care about individuals, the important thing is the mentality of the whole team. Which was bad before they joined and after with these particular saviors of yours.
You can play Calabria or Emerson doesn’t matter, wont change anything. Nobody is gonna look to Calabria and be inspired to work harder, he lower in the hierarchies at the club than players such as leao and theo.
Can you point the spot where the editor said it was a fact? I can’t find it.
Its at the top of the article.
If you ever runs into that issue again or then copy paste the part referenced and then press CTRL + f and then it will find it in the text. You can also just press CTRL + f and write whatever you want in any article on the web and you will find whatever words you are seeking. Just a friendly advice that is of great use in my view.
LOL. Of course I know how to do ctrl+f. But the FACT is that if press ctrl+f and type fact, the only facts that pop up are the ones in the comments. Just try and see. 😉
Ok well if you copy paste this it will show up right below the headline ““AC Milan needed to add a central defender in the summer” and that was what I was referring to and assumed it was what you spoke about as well.
Nope.
“AC Milan needed to add a central defender in the summer”
That’s clearly an opinion. I don’t see the editor presenting that as an undeniable fact. And also, these articles aren’t scientific thesis. Of course they’re filled with opinions. Sometimes backed up by facts, sometimes not. Excepting the editors to write only fact-based stats would be pretty darn boring TBH.

(I hate this so-called forum. Can’t edit, always getting unwarranted error messages, can’t block idiots…)
Oh ok no worries even though I hope you are not referring to me as an Idiot 😀 Hate it as well that we cant edit our comments, at least when no-one has replied yet because that could be an even bigger mess.
Well yeah people should take the articles with a grain of salt if not a ton of it.
LOL. Nope, you’re definitely not one of the idiots here! 😀
🙂 glad to hear that.

With Theo out, I think one solution could be to have G-P-T playing together .
Call it defensive A.I. 😄
