MN: Why talks with Arab groups over investment are ‘ordinary activity’

Rumours have been swirling about AC Milan and the prospect of investment in the club from Arab groups, but this is said to be completely normal activity for the ownership to be carrying out.

As reported by Milan News, holding meetings with investors and potential investors in the Middle East is something that RedBird Capital Group owner Gerry Cardinale does all of the time, not just in relation to Milan.

Milan are not the only sports team that RedBird own/have some control over, so any meetings with Arab investors could feasibly have nothing to do with the Rossoneri.

It is also pointed out that investment from the Arab world in European football does not always result in immediate success, meaning there is an element of ‘be careful what you wish for’.

RedBird have expressed serious interest in moving Milan into a new stadium which would raise the value of the club exponentially, given it would be owned by the Rossoneri and have greater commercial power.

If they were to fully sell the club, it would almost certainly happen after that new stadium has been created.
