MN: Why Bennacer and Tonali were left out of squad for Milan-Crotone

By Isak Möller -

In the days leading up to Milan-Crotone, it seemed Stefano Pioli would have just two absences in the shape of Simon Kjaer and Brahim Diaz. However, this wasn’t the case, as revealed by the squad list.

Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer will both miss the game tomorrow, having been left out of the squad. According to MilanNews, the former Brescia man is yet to recover from his hip issues, which has been causing him some discomfort lately.

As for Bennacer, the midfielder is suffering from initial symptoms of bronchitis and also had a bit of fever. He didn’t take part in today’s training session with the team and the decision was thus to leave him out.

On a positive note, Matteo Gabbia and Hakan Calhanoglu are back in the squad. The defender has been out for a very long time, while the No.10 recently recovered from COVID and is working hard to get back in shape.
