Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee is AC Milan’s favoured striker target for the summer and Alexis Saelemaekers could form part of the negotiation to help bring the price down.
As reported by Milan News, Zirkzee is the player who best represents the profile of striker that Milan want to sign, more so than Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.
The fact he has proved his worth in Serie A and will not be adjusting to a new country is presumably a selling point, along with his age. Another factor that could make the deal more feasible is Saelemaekers being on loan at Bologna.
The Belgian winger has had a good season with the Rossoblu and it seems in his and the club’s interest to join on a permanent deal.
Discussions will have to be held over the transfer fee for Zirkzee and to what extent Saelemaekers could feature in the deal. Zirkzee is said to be keen on the move.
One of the main problems with pursuing a deal for Zirkzee is that he is also a target for teams like Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal, so there is serious competition for the Dutchman who has got 10 Serie A goals and four assists so far this season. He also scored once in the Coppa Italia.

He is striker not winger . Can play solo CF due to his physical & technique . Can create chance for other ofensive player in ACM like leao ,pulisic ,okafor,chukwu,RLC. Can play 2 striker too with jovic . Wasted mercato for you because management not target player that you want to join ACM
Zirkzee is not a winger but has different characteristics to Oliver G.
He’s a modern 9, can find his way in a tight angle, let me say he is versatile because he’s also good in some attacking area.
I dont even know why I clicked on it… The more I see these articles, and the more I think that’s its the Bologna team and Zirkzee agent that push them to get a bidding war. Article that keeps repeating what has already been said.
At this point, I have a feeling that Zirkzee won’t happen and is just being used as a smokescreen.
Zirkzee has 10 goals this season, 2 from penalties. Does 8 goals from open play suggest that he has “proved his worth”? Sesko and Jovic also have 8 goals each from open play, but in half the minutes. I realize stats are just one aspect, and actually watching the player matters, but just trying to understand why Zirkzee is top on the list.
He’s going to Juve. Juve will steal him just stole (as they have apparently agreed to a deal for) Motta to be their new head coach. Juve will offer him another salary and the chance to reunite with his coach.
This is all smoke and mirrors. We are not spending 50-60M for Zirkzee or any player for that matter. That is not the moneyball way

Who told you Juve have the money & they’ll bid €50-60 million? The interest from the EPL clubs is overblown. Why would he go to Man United? To play in the Europa League? Arsenal are playing well without a striker, they don’t need Zirkzee either. €40-50 million will be enough and we have the money, despite your continued bs about moneyball. We spent over €100 million.

The addition of a striker like Zirkzee provides the same potential as it does for us. Let’s hope he sees the lifestyle of living in Milan as a feature of the potential deal!
