MN24: Milan in talks over deal for full-back that could see Man Utd register €7m loss

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to explore the possibility of keeping Diogo Dalot beyond his loan spell from Manchester United, according to a report.

Dalot arrived on a season-long loan last summer without an option or obligation to buy, and although he hasn’t been a starter for the most part he has still registered plenty of appearances, showing his versatility through his ability to play left-back and right-back.

As MilanNews24 writes, Dalot has established himself as one of the protagonists this season and in terms of playing down he is having his best, as he has had made the most appearances in a singly season (30).

Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have already started negotiations with Manchester United to try to keep Dalot at Milan. Their idea would be to renew the loan for another year but also to insert an option to buy set at €15m, which would mean the English club made a loss on the €22m they paid Porto (as per Wikipedia).
