MN24: Rangnick wants Spurs-linked German international and record breaking Dutch defender

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Ralf Rangnick is targeting two centre-backs from the Bundesliga to reinforce the Rossoneri’s defence upon his arrival, it is claimed.

According to MilanNews24, Milan’s defence will need some additions this summer given that Mateo Musacchio looks set to depart and Simon Kjaer’s permanence is far from certain.

Matteo Gabbia is young and inexperienced while the same can be said about Leo Duarte, who has also been riddled with injury problems since his arrival from Flamengo last summer.

For this reason Rangnick already has two names in mind that would ensure defensive depth and also the possibility of launching a challenge to be Alessio Romagnoli’s long-term defensive partner.

SC Freiburg star Robin Koch is the first name on the list, with the 23-year-old having recently become a full German international. Bild (via BuliNews) are reporting that Spurs are also keen on Koch, who Freiburg are set to cash in on this summer.

Hoffenheim’s Melayro Bogarde is the other name, and he recently became the youngest Dutchman to ever feature in the Bundesliga as he made his debut in Hoffenheim’s 1-0 victory over Mainz last month.
