This afternoon, Ruben Amorim has named his starting XI for the game against Manchester United and there are some interesting AC Milan picks.
It has been a difficult pre-season for Milan and Amorim, with several things to overcome. However, the coach will not make excuses and hopes to end the preparation for the upcoming season with a win against his former club.

For the game, there have been a number of forced selections, but the Portuguese has still made four changes.
The headlines from the XI
As MilanNews reports, the big news is that Luka Modric is being ‘rested’. He hasn’t got any physical issues, but instead is being managed ready for the first game of the season against Torino.
So, this is why Yunus Musah comes into the starting XI. Of course, it allows Amorim to see the American in action, too.
The other big headline from the game is that Strahinja Pavlovic is the captain, as MilanNews also reports. With Modric out, there were certainly a few questions about who would take it and for the first time, it’s the Serbian.
Heavily liked within the dressing room and one of the more senior players in the squad today, it makes complete sense why he has been entrusted with this honour.

I sincerely hope they will sign a RWB now that Athekame has left.
If Nkunku leaves too (and especially if Cisse doesn’t stay), we are going to need 2 fast and mobile attacking midfielders like them…

Unfortunately, Musah will be there in Fofana’s stead just like RLC will be in Nkunku’s (and Cisse’s partly) place. Ricci will stay as well so we probably won’t sign another MC which is a horrible thing to witness, comprehend, process (digest), endure and live with. Unacceptable!!!
