Sky: Modric can return as a starter vs. Cagliari – the decision lies with Allegri

This weekend, AC Milan can qualify for the Champions League and they could rely on Luka Modric once again. 

For many, Modric has been the signing of the season for Milan. The Croatian has taken the squad to new heights at 40 years old. His inspiration has known no limits and there is a chance that he could remain for another season.

Reports in recent months have suggested that a re-entrance into Europe’s most prestigious competition may be enough to tempt him to play another season at San Siro and they are now within touching distance.

Modric back for Milan

Of course, they have made it pretty difficult for themselves in recent weeks, too. In typical Rossoneri fashion, what could have been a simple mission became a challenge and now the results of the final day will be crucial to their fate and that of their maestro.

He would have loved to have been there to help them recently and this is why he pushed to get back to action as soon as he was medically cleared.

Now, he has received that clearance and Sky report that he could take to the field on Sunday, as Calciomercato.com relays. A decision will be made by Massimiliano Allegri this week about whether he can play again this season for the Diavolo, with it depending on his condition.

Ultimately, though, he is ready to return and he could do so as a starter.
