Croatia were utterly dominant in their World Cup qualifier win over Czechia last night, and Luka Modric was one of the stars of the show.
Modric registered a goal from the penalty spot and an assist for his national team in their 5-1 hammering of Czechia. Now that his international duty is done, he will soon formalise his move to AC Milan on a free transfer.

Modric to Milan: The agenda
As Calciomercato.com recall, Modric tried to play things down in a press conference on the eve of the game when asked about his future. Milan remain his destiny and his statements never worried the Rossoneri.
Modric and Milan are ‘engaged and now they just have to wait for the right moment to celebrate the wedding’, as per the source. The clues suggest it will be this midweek that he carries out his medical checks.

For logistical reasons they will not be carried out in Italy but in Croatia, in order to give the 39-year-old time to organise the trip to the USA where he will play the Club World Cup with Real Madrid. A decision that Milan accepted and respected without batting an eyelid.
Luka received several offers but then gave in to the charm of that Milan for which he has had a special affection since he was a child. An agreement with the Rossoneri was reached on the basis of a one-year deal (with an option for the following season) at €3.5m net plus €500k in bonuses.
If Leao stays, he’ll break the 20 goal barrier next season just because of Modric’s vision and superb passes.

agree with all of you guys. Even at 40, his skills are amazing. He wont play every game but i do hope he can be a guide and mentor to some of the young mids we have. i.e. Bondo, Musah, even liberali and fofana.

If it’s a stop gap for a season to get us back to CL, I don’t see a problem. We need experienced guys, winners who will push this bunch out of their comfort zone.

Who in this team is giving you hope outside of Puli and maybe Fofana? Who is Modric here to motivate?
That is a question for the end of August. If you don’t know we just ended the season. Transfer window is coming, Allegri is trying to get a good team for himself. You can’t ask who on 10th of June, are you special?

They better bring Fazzini to swap and learn from Modric.
