There has been a lot of focus on the midfield recently, and it seems Milan may have significant plans for the summer. Both the incoming and outgoing markets could be of interest, and there could definitely be a bit of a reshuffling.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana have both been linked with moves away recently, whilst Luka Modric could also depart. However, planning has already begun, with Leon Goretzka’s name heavily liked by those at Casa Milan.
Though, the German is not the only player to note.
Kovacic to Milan?
MilanVibes, as Calciomercato.com relays, reports that the idea of bringing Mateo Kovacic to Milano is becoming more popular, with enquiries already being made.
They are not the only ones to make contact, though. In fact, Modric himself has spoken to his compatriot about joining him at San Siro, with him reportedly ‘very happy’ at the idea of Kovacic arriving in the summer.
Whilst it is unknown what was said exactly, the pair reportedly discussed the ‘new direction’ of the Rossoneri.
In the meantime, Milan are evaluating the midfielder’s fitness issues, after recent injuries, and with Manchester City not against a departure in the summer, it is one to keep tabs on.

Kovacic has recently been to injury prone, but as a Modric successor for short term might make sense… Comotto still needs a bit more time to develop

I agree with your buys. Selling- Pulisic. Mckennie is better suited to be a player in the box. Allegri likes him. Strong and a good jumper. Can play multiple positions. ACM can’t afford to leave 40-50 ml on the bench. Kovacic best days are behind him. His passing range is limited.

Ricci is more box-to-box and it makes sense when you listen who are his idols: Tonali and Gatusso
Jashari is a multi-position player who before injury was a steam engine for Brugge, aka swiss Rabiot.

Modric, and I hope he stays, is the only regista we have. if he leaves assisting us on Kovacic is great, but we still need a cover for that role. Hence, Perrone for me
I thought he was awesome when he played at inter as a #10. Then at Real Madrid and Chelsea he was moved further back in the midfield and he was never the same player again.

If Modric is trying to convince Kovacic to join him here, then he’s not planning to leave at the end of the season.

How come Maignan couldn’t convince Rabiot to join Milan last summer when Milan was trying to sign him as a free agent after he left Juventus?
Allegri is the one that convinced Rabiot to join him here.
Last season Conceicao and Fonseca were in charge. They went for different profiles. Rabiot was not deemed necessary and he went to Marseille.
Obviously having Allegri on the bench is a big boost, but you’re barking up the wrong logic tree talking about why Mike didn’t convince Adrien last season.

Mike and Milan were in a bad place when Rabiot decided to join Milan. Mike wanted to leave and was trying to force a transfer to Chelsea just few weeks earlier and it was said that he will be leaving Milan for free because Milan went back on their word about his new contract.
Allegri convinced Rabiot and then with time has convinced Maignan to stay. Not that hard to understand the logic.
The champs of serie A led by the “great” Antonio Conte finished 30th out of 36 teams in the UCL tournament stage with 8 points out of 8 games. Embarrassing, but not surprising because thats Conte’s MO.
Just for comparison, Milan led by Fonseca/Conceição last season had 15 points after the tournament stage. Only Italian team that reached 15 points this season was inter.
If only Milan got rid of Hernández and Calabria a year earlier than they did, they would have had a much better season last year and they would be playing in UCL this year.
BTW. In 23/24, Milan led by Pioli in the group of death with PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle finished 3rd on same points with PSG from 6 games. Conte needed 8 games to get to 8 points.

I am concerned about Puli leaving Milan after
the World Cup. Allegri can be the motivation for Puli
to leave. Depends on whether he thinks Allegri is the
manager capable of leading Milan to the UCL Championship. Allegri’s defensive approach hasn’t changed since he left Juventus. The question is can Old Dogs learn new tricks??
