Luka Modric seems to be heading towards another season at the heart of AC Milan, with Ruben Amorim likely to rely on him.
When Modric was heading towards a renewal, it seemed that he could be a ‘part-time’ player for Milan. Yet, after last season, it seemed unlikely that that would be the case.

Modric remains key
It seems these predictions for Modric were wrong, though. Indeed, Gazzetta dello Sport write in this morning’s edition that he will remain a key player.
As was stated last season, ‘age is just a number’ to the Croatian, and Amorim is ready to hand him the keys to the midfield again this season, starting with Torino on Sunday.
How cruciality continues
Over the summer, Modric seemed likely to finish his playing career. However, he overturned that decision, hoping to win with Milan as a player, as he stated in a recent interview.
He trained throughout the summer to ensure he was ready for a new season, if he decided to renew, so when he arrived back in top condition it was never really a surprise.
Amorim has made him know that, once again, he is crucial, and so he will start in Turin. He will be given rests, of course, but he will still be key.
The silly love affair continues. The Italian press are as embarrassing as their national team. Modric was gassed in the second half of the season. He won’t be a ‘key’ player. He’ll start well then fade after a few weeks.
