Luka Modric is needed in the AC Milan team, but he cannot be among his teammates just yet. However, that does not mean he can’t support them.
There was a hope that Modric could be back in the Milan team before the end of the season, with the Croatian looking to help his teammates get over the line and qualify for the Champions League next season.

However, it will not be as soon as hoped. Indeed, he is still not able to play.
Modric there, but not on the pitch
As Gazzetta dello Sport write, the Croatian will have tests next week to assess if he is ready to play. If it were up to him, he’d have played last week against Sassuolo. However, he must be 100% ready and that must be a medical professional’s decision.
So, there is still hope of him playing next weekend in the final game of the season, with a protective mask on. However, even this is a risk, which he is willing to take.
While it is frustrating him that he cannot play, he will continue to support his teammates however he can, even if not on the pitch. In training, he has worked alone, but continued to support them where possible.
Then, he will be in the stands against Genoa. He could probably be on the bench, but with him not being used, there is no point.
