Having joined back up with the team in recent days following a post-World Cup vacation, the Croatian played about half an hour off the bench in Milan’s 1-1 draw with Inter out in Perth today. He provided the through ball to Christopher Nkunku that draw the equalising penalty, too.

After the final whistle, Modric spoke to some reporters at the Optus Stadium to give his take on how things went, with his words relayed by Perth Now.

“It was nice to get some minutes under the belt. I felt good I think it was a good match, and I hope the fans enjoyed. On the pitch we did a lot of good things and hopefully we can just improve,” he said.

“It’s great to be here, second time in Australia first time in Perth. We are doing well so far; there are a lot of new ideas, and we need to adapt little by little and hopefully we will go better.”
