AC Milan continue to receive good news, with the latest being the expected renewal of Luka Modric’s contract.
For months, the future of Luka Modric has been up in the air. The Croatian had not decided before the World Cup and the lack of Champions League football certainly did not help Milan’s case to renew his deal.

However, he will not leave just yet.
Modric stays
After his World Cup journey ended last week, he has taken a few days to think about what is next and as reports suggested over the weekend, the idea of leaving the Rossoneri was not a pleasant one for him.
So, as reported by Tuttosport this morning (via MilanNews), he will stay at San Siro for another season. Indeed, the Croatian reflected on the decision with his family, but he has ultimately chosen to continue playing.
He and his family love Milano, and his daughter is currently enjoying her time with the youth team. So, it benefits everyone.
For the Diavolo, it is also huge. Gerry Cardinale and Ruben Amorim have both requested his stay for weeks now and they are glad to keep a leader like Modric at the club, believing he will be fundamental. So, even when he is not on the pitch, he will still be important.

I kept saying this for a while now as I have a strong reliable inside source in the club and am able to share some things at high general level. Good things are happening and have been happening before the end of the season, but media need to make money and nothing better for them then when they are allowed to speculate.
One more time, good things are happening, and yes we may not get it 100% the first time but overall the right structure and path are put in place to ensure continuous improvement to the whole AC Milan.

Referee investigation: Prosecutors say

The Milan prosecutor’s office has put its sights on the match between Torino and Inter last season. Mariani was appointed only after the Nerazzurri gave their approval.
There’s news on the Milan prosecutor’s investigation into referees : according to Corriere della Sera , a new match has emerged that is being scrutinized by prosecutor Maurizio Ascione , namely Torino-Inter from last season’s Serie A match, which ended 2-2, for which Maurizio Mariani was appointed referee. Wiretaps revealed that the referee was not “welcome” to the Nerazzurri and that his appointment would only have been made with the prior consent of the Inter club .
While Rocchi’s alleged “knocking” during last season’s Udinese-Parma match is likely to be shelved, the former referee’s office would also be involved in “conspiracy with representatives of Inter Milan and, in concert with them, the latter acting due to their preferential relationships with Gabriele Gravina (former FIGC president, ed.).” Currently, neither the former FIGC president nor Nerazzurri officials are under investigation. The allegation stems from a wiretap in which an AIA official reported to Rocchi Inter’s discontent with Mariani’s selection.
In a totally unrelated news, I didn’t watch the Switzerland match yesterday but I went on livescores and saw that Jashari was hooked off after only 45 minutes. It’s really worrying I must say. Keeping Modric affects his game time but then again he’s having problems not just at Milan but in the NT too. Hope Amorim can create the spark that gets him going.
The whole team was struggling in the first 30 minutes, Columbia were very good on neutralizing Swiss, Jashari was subed and for a good reason, he was not effective, but neither was Xhaka, considering he has not been given game time last season, and also in this World Cup he was first to go. The game changed slowly after that, but Swis were really smart overall on managing it. Xhaka was basically coaching while playing, shame that we did not end up signing him instead of Jashari, he and Modric on the midfield would have been a different story. You can see his impact in Arsenal, Leverkusen, more so now at Sunderland and for a while with the Swiss team, he is more then a midfielder, a leader and captain we would need.
I know there are many that would argue otherwise but just see the impact he had on teams when he joined and when he plays or not.
Life goes one, if Jashari does not get the time he needs, it is better to sell him now. Having said that my last name is not Amorim, so Mister get’s to decide and he knows better
