Moggi claims Allegri and Ibrahimovic have ‘fallen out’ and are ‘no longer seeing each other’

Luciano Moggi has claimed that Massimiliano Allegri and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had an argument which has left them no longer on speaking terms.

Moggi worked at Napoli, Roma and Lazio before ending up at Juventus. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 1994 and oversaw an incredibly successful 12-year tenure, keeping the club financially self-sustaining while consistently securing trophies.

However, in May 2006, Moggi’s career collapsed when wiretapped phone conversations exposed his role in the Calciopoli scandal. He was banned from all Italian football for life by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), while Juventus were stripped of their 2005 and 2006 Serie A titles, and relegated.

Allegri and Zlatan spat?

Moggi now works as a commentator and as a pundit. He spoke in today’s edition of the newspaper Libero, focusing in particular on the power struggle within the Rossoneri management.

“At the moment, there’s a kind of armed peace at Milan where everyone talks behind each other’s backs without telling each other what they really think, except Allegri and Ibrahimovic, who have had a falling out and are no longer seeing each other,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).

“Since then, the manager has become a target, even though he’s always talked about Champions League qualification as his main objective.

“If he were to achieve it, he’d do what the club asks, regardless of whether it’s through ups and downs in performance that are forcing the team to fight strenuously to secure at least fourth place.

“What can I say about Tare? He’s one of the best managers, based on what he demonstrated at Lazio. It almost seems like Milan hired him to please those who said that, after Maldini, the club lacked a director capable of managing the team both sportingly and financially.

“They hired the best, but others are responsible for managing the team, including the transfer market. It’s true that Milan doesn’t want to turn things around.”

Having been sidelined a bit over the past few months, we may have an explanation as to why Ibrahimovic hasn’t been in the public eye as much recently, if indeed Moggi is correct.
