Moncada responds to questions on Terracciano, Brassier and Krunic

AC Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada has seemingly confirmed the arrival of Pietro Terracciano, while he insisted that Rade Krunic will stay if the right offer doesn’t come in.

After the return of Matteo Gabbia from his loan at Villarreal, it seems that the next reinforcement is close to arriving with multiple sources reporting that Terracciano will soon undergo his medical.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported last night that Milan have reached an agreement with Hellas Verona: the Rossoneri will pay €4.5m plus an additional €1m in bonuses, while there will also be a 10% resale clause in favour of the Gialloblu.

The Italy U21 international is an interesting profile because of his age (20), his potential, his experience in Serie A already – given he has been a starter for a year and a half – as well as the fact he can cover multiple roles.

Moncada spoke to Sky before kick-off in the game against Empoli and he discussed a number of topics from the mercato rumours to the team’s current moment, with MilanNews relaying his comments.

How are the team at the moment?

“It’s a good moment. It’s important to be back to winning ways, we have the energy of the younger players and also Ibra who helps a lot. We all work so hard.”

Has Ibrahimovic’s return been important?

“He knows many clubs and many players, and has won a lot. We can learn from him, he is an intelligent, serious man and a hard worker.”

Terracciano is reportedly close to arriving…

“We’ve been following him for two years. He’s a wild card in the defence, he can play right-back, left-back and even as amidfielder. He’s a profile who has played a lot, he has a good physique, we’re happy.”

What about the rest of the mercato? Will a striker arrive?

“We have Giroud and Jovic, they are our two number 9s. They are doing well, they are scoring. We can’t always look for players on the market, we have them and we have to use them.”

What about the Brassier rumours?

“We’ve been following him for a long time too, I’ve known him for 5 years. He’s an interesting player. He’s on our list, but we don’t have any agreement either with him or with Brest.”

Will Krunic leave?

“He’s a Milan player. We don’t have the right offer, without the right offer he won’t leave.”
