AC Milan face a very difficult task convincing Feyenoord to sell Santiago Gimenez during the January transfer window, it is claimed.
Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham both failed to score for Milan against Parma today and both are struggling to provide signs that they can prove the goals necessary to lead the line moving forward.

The links with Gimenez have intensified in recent days, and there has even been talk of an initial bid being rejected plus the desire to go back in with a new and improved bid before the window closes.
According to Peppe Di Stefano on Sky (via MilanNews), Gimenez to Milan is ‘a complicated affair’ because ‘there are monstrous figures at stake’ and Feyenoord ‘s desire is ‘not to sell the player at all’ this month.
The Sky correspondent adds that it will also be complicated to convince Bologna to sell Riccardo Orsolini, amid the reports that there could be a player-plus-cash offer going in for the Italian winger.
For the midfield, the main name that the Rossoneri are looking at is Samuele Ricci of Torino. However, he seems to be more of an objective for the summer rather than someone to arrive in the next few days.

of course because we are waiting till the last week of January.. First we have to sell and then buy.. at the end we dont get Gimenez but the ridicilous managment did everything to get him..
40 mil are not monsterous figures like at all
I would rather they get Orsolini than Gimenez. At least Orsolini will get the ball more often than a striker would on this Milan team.
Spending 40m on Gimenez in January and bringing him in to supposedly finish these non existent chances Milan creates is silly. Milan over performed their expected xG today, but somehow the strikers are the problem because every attempt of a pass or cross goes 20 matter away from them.
Also, if they are so committed on signing a striker at least sign someone who can immediately help you, not a guy that comes from another league and will need time to adapt, especially as a striker in a very tough league for strikers.
Go get Lucca for half of the money and use the rest of the money on a midfielder.
Matter fact, pay Fiorentina money to give you Adli back 6 months earlier or give them Bennacer.
Adli has scored more goals than frng Morata this season!!! 😀 😀 😀
Excellent comment. Without some midfielder who can pass to our forwards does not help. Get back Adli and somebody better than Fofana who is nothing compared to Kessie we had before. Perhaps sell Theo and use the money för Gimenez.
Moratta isn’t cutting it, not even close. At his best he would have been the bare minimum we would need, but currently he offers nothing in attack at best, and more than often his contribution is actually negative (bad first touches, disrupting the link up, etc…). We have many issues, but the difference between our starting CF and what the opposition has is just embarrassing
Then the question is why in the world they bought him in the first place? He is a well known figure, Morata sucks. Having said that, we also lack that creativity from our midfield. None of our midfielrs can hold the ball, dribble and create that final pass. With a midfield likr that, and CF would struggle.
We have second most shots per game in the league. Not sure which “non-existant” chances you are talking about. They exist, and our strikers are not finishing them.
Again, taking wayward shots from outside the penalty box out of desperation or lack of ideas doesn’t equate to chances missed.
How many chances did the team create today, and how many of those were for the strikers?
Milan and Parma had the exact same shots on and off target today and that was with Milan going for broke in the last 15 minutes of the game.
Milan scored 3 goals while their xG was 2.32. What chances were not finished?
How many attempts for a cross that goes for a throw in on the other side people have to see to realize that the service is the bigger problem than the finishing?
If you bring a striker who will get the same service you will get the same production.
Milan strikers this season and the past seasons while Giroud was there have to drop deep into midfield just to get a touch on the ball.
I don’t disagree with you. Very often there’s no decent service to the striker and AM is a position that needs to be reinforced.
But it’s not one or the other. Both positions need help. AM and a good 9. Because of the chances that are put on the platter for the strikers, very few are converted it seems. It would help tremendously to have someone in front of goal able to convert what chances we do get.
Your sample size of one game is not enough. How many scuffed chances have you seen from Tammy and Morata? How many shots right at the GK? Also, you’re now talking about crosses. So it isn’t just AM then. It’s the wings, the wingbacks/fullbacks, who are giving poor service. So we have to change like 5 players? Yeah, we know the overall quality of the team is poor in some areas. Keeping clean sheets is another. But I’m coming from a perspective of “if we can only afford one upgrade right now, what position should it be?” And I maintain that the most impactful single signing in this moment would be a reliable striker. The only other club in the top 8 that does not have a reliable striker is….Juventus, and look how they’re doing. And they got Kolo Muani to try to fix it, not a creative midfielder, even though Koopmeiners is doing much less than Tijji. And that’s another problem. Since Fonseca left, Tijji’s production has fallen off a cliff…
Remember that offside’s are ignored in the stats. That’s 2-3 great chances missed for Morata missing in the stats too.
Luca and orzolini for milan z think again pls
cant agree more…i will rather we get someone who could create more decisive chances than a striker! if a an assist player comes in the squad, the strikers will ‘rearrange’ their movements in and around the box to ensure they finish off balls coming to them. And yes if its to get a striker urgently is what they want to do, getting someone who knows the league is the way to go, not someone we will now be waiting for to ‘adjust and adapt’.
They know they need to bring another striker for 4-4-2 system and I believe they bring someone. Yes Gimenez is hard task because of CL spot for Feyenoord and also for next year qualification. But if not him, then there will be some striker from midtable clubs. I don’t know if there is any possibility in January… Tammy is is useless and Morata is totally out of form, he score every 4 games . Maybe Jovic need more chances but still we need another one and out management know it..
Said since the first mention in the press, there just is no need for Feyenoord to sell.
They need him to progress in UCL, they need him to qualify for UCL for next year. Either of those objectives would make as much money as a transfer.
Plus he’s unlikely to lose value between now and summer and they can replace him properly then (seeing as they have, you know, proper scouting systems and a coherent succession plan for their players).
So why would they sell?
well They had a coherent succesion plan when Arne Slot was the coach. Now… not so much
Exactly. Only an offer way above value will move him, and won’t and should not pay that.
Why do they even bother on paying a overpriced for Orsolini..
Pay a lot less for Berardi instead
We could do so much better than this guy with the money it would take.
No need to hurry Milan management, few more days till the end of the transfer window, chill.
Stop the talk! They would not get this guy. They will get some random guy in the last minutes.
I prefer Sesko than Gimenez
Sesko costs twice as much… if you can fund-raise 40M go ahead
The Dutch hold all the cards. They don’t have to sell the player until summer, at that. So if Milan wants to get Gimenez then they need to throw the 40mil at the club and put them in a position of having to make that decision. 30+ starting point is just a waste of time for them and more importantly for us, as we’re running out of time.
Outside of Walker, we still don’t have midfield reinforcements nor do we have a reliable striker.
Milan need buy energic and productive player like Justin Kluivert
LoL
rather than spending so much money on Jimenez, we’d better try for Sesko. He seems like a much more complete, younger striker to me. We need a tall striker who can win aerial duels (when I see that every corner we take is short and we’ve brought defenders into the box for nothing🤦🏻♂️) Rather than spending 40 million on Jimenez, you’d better make an effort and bring in Sesko for 55 million.
You haven’t seen Sesko player. He is a terrible finisher.
“He seems like a much more complete”
LOL. We already have Abraham & Morata. We don’t need a 3rd striker who can’t score. What those three have in common is that they all need 10 good chances to score one single goal. NOT what we need.
Seems like some fans don’t even watch the games and are merely arguing on theorethical stuff. Did you sleep through Morata’s absurd misses against Genoa in the anniversary 0-0 game? Were you busy, doing something else when Abraham wasted not one, but TWO golden opportunites. These alone are equal to four points and significantly better chances at a CL qualification. What are your realistic expectations for clear chances created for the strikers? We’re not playing against amateurs. We’re facing some of the most tactically prepared defenders in Europe and most of the time they play in a low block. Sure, TJ and Leao are sometimes selfish in the final third. Sure, Pulisic’s few truly bad performances were against teams that defended deep, but that happens in every team. Morata and Abraham’s job is to score from clear opportunities and be more involved around the penalty spot which most of the time they’re simply not doing.
*Abraham’s misses were against Cagliari, forgot to add that part.
There has been horrible misses. There has been many misses. Even with the old geezer Giroud we would be in the top4 as we speak. He was old, he was slow. But he scored we needed him to.
We desperately need an holding midfield. We need it for 2 years now. Fofana is doing ok as n6, but he is not one. He is a very vertical player, a bal carrier. He is not a player for the first build up. All other midfields are ball carriers, including Isma. This team needs better control of the game and player to help in negative transition. This is the most important move, more than a striker.
I mostly agree, except the part that this is the most important position to reinforce. We need reinforcements in many positions. Cf, lb’s deputy, am, and a better nr6. It’s a poorly built squad.
Camarda is better than Morata and Abraham yet he is not getting many minutes – Wouldn’t be surprised to see him disappear on loan
I’m sick and tired of Milan, morata and Tammy are useless in that team, morata is selfish with ball. The coach should not sell Okafor or Samuel chukwueze.
Pulisic is trying hard for that team. Why are we gonna draw Genoa and Cagliari. We need a mid fielder that can hold ball. So the striker won’t be able to work much. Sell Tammy and Morata please. Rejiders and fofana with another mid fielder that can hold ball that’s what we need we don’t need striker
Dont worries, they dont sign him 🙂
He wont be able to play Europe this seasion, so we will be stuck with Morata, Abraham and Jovic till next window, because its too complicated to change things mid-seasion. We have almost full registration quota so Walker and maybe one more signing will be all with some departures like Okafor or Chukwue.
Orsolini maybe but in my opinion i would try Berardi for final career call.
We wont do any major changes and top striker is such, so no, not going to happen.
We need so much changes in squad
