Montella: “Donnarumma? He has to make up his mind”

By Isak Möller -

During a fair play event in Milan earlier today, Montella spoke to the media about this season, as well as Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Vincenzo Montella has been confirmed as Milan’s manager for next season by Fassone and the new leadership. With that said, the Chinese ownership is looking to provide Montella with players that he likes, but also renewing contracts of players who they want to keep.

One of these players is Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract negotiations has stalled as Mino Raiola is with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, negotiations are destined to pick up soon, which is something that Montella commented in the interview with Italian TV channel, Premium Sport.

“I know for a fact that AC Milan are working very hard to keep Gigio Donnarumma, but he has to make a decision as well.”

Montella also took the time to answer some questions about the transfer market, where he discussed Keita, as well as new signing Mateo Musacchio.

“Keita is an interesting player but every time we speak about a Lazio player, Lotito raises his price. Deulofeu has given us a lot. We can’t decide the next destination of the player, but he’s done great things here.

“Who will be the next number nine, between Keita, Kalinic and Morata? Maybe none of them. For the time being, the number nine shirt belongs to Lapadula.

“Musacchio? He is a great player, and is appreciated by all parties.”
