Former AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has claimed that Patrick Cutrone feels like his ‘creation’.
The young Rossoneri striker was given his first senior opportunities by Montella at the start of the season.
Montella is eager to take some of the credit for his rise, while also admitting that he would love to manage the Italian national team one day.
“For an Italian Coach, coaching the ‘Nazionale’ is a dream,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“I’d like it to happen to me one day, but for now the possibility seems very distant to me.
“Cutrone? I’m happy for his call-up, almost as if it was my own. I feel like he’s my creation a bit.
“We worked hard on him, plus he has great desire to improve in training, and this will take him far. He represents the future of the national team.”
