Monza manager praises Milan loanee Maldini: “He has it in his DNA”

Daniel Maldini was the big hero for Monza earlier today as he scored the only goal of the game with a nice free-kick. After the game, manager Raffaele Palladino had only good things to say about the AC Milan loanee.

Maldini has scored three goals in five games since joining Monza in January, cutting his loan spell at Empoli short. Today’s goal was an absolute beauty, and the Rossoneri are certainly watching on with a great smile on their faces.

After the game, as cited by MilanNews24, the Monza manager Raffaele Palladino shared his thoughts on the importance of Maldini recently. He also revealed that the youngster hadn’t been practising on any free-kicks during the week.

“Maldini has talent, he has it in his DNA. Up until the goal, it wasn’t a good game for him and he knows it. But his shot from the free-kick was great quality. I can say that I have tried to give him trust and daily dialogue.

“He trains with intensity, he has great talent. His surname was heavy in the media but I gave him lightness from this point of view. He works a lot during the week, I demand a lot for two hours a day, pace and intensity. In Serie A, to cope with the big teams you have to be physically fit,” he stated.

It remains to be seen what will happen in the summer, as a lot will depend on the head coach position at Milan, but Maldini will have a good chance if he were to continue like this. After all, the Rossoneri could use another No.10 to alternate with Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
