Morata chooses Milan shirt number after Adli’s act of generosity – photos

After Alvaro Morata’s signing was made official by AC Milan earlier today, the shirt number that he has taken has also been confirmed.

In a statement on their official website, confirmed that Morata has put pen to paper on a contract until 2028 with the option for an extra year, officially becoming the first new signing of the summer mercato.

As part of the statement the club also announced that he has chosen to wear the number seven shirt, the same one he wears for Spain. As we have learned, the No.7 has been ‘generously vacated’ by Yacine Adli who will now take the No.94.

    1. He might be but I don’t think this is a sign of it – they would have said he will choose later if so – Adli’s always been a proper team player and seems like a great guy, I’d chalk it up to that

      1. Well said about Adli. He may not be a super star but he plays his heart out; shows commitment; and is mad about milan. Honestly hope he remains with us.

  1. The number 7 also points out to what Moratta actualy plays like. He struggles as a lone striker, he is tall but he is not Giroud. Well he can be a good partner with Jovic who aslo struggles as a lone striker.

  2. Adli will give up just about anything to stay at the club. Something to be said about his dedication to the colors. I just wish he was technically better to carve out a role here.

    1. Technically better??? LOL.

Sorry but he is a technically gifted player – just not physical one. He can make any pass on the pitch has vision and control and can read the game. He just needs time.

You seem to forget my friend that he was playing an entirely NEW position as well. Not many players can do that. He has what is typically of a young player some good games and some bad. He just needs PT – or move back to his normal position as ACM. But I doubt Redbird gives him the chance.

      Shame

    1. Adli is a bit too nice. May come across as a bit of a pushover. I would not be surprised if management say thank you and sell him.
