Morata says he wants ‘to help’ Camarda: “Maybe I will sit on the bench”

Francesco Camarda has a great future ahead of him and Alvaro Morata, who had his press conference yesterday, stated that he wants to help the youngster grow. Indeed, as he stated himself, he might be benched in favour of the Italian.

Camarda spent the entire 2023-24 season with the Primavera side and impressed massively, especially in the UEFA Youth League where he faced much older players. He also made his debut for the first team, coming off the bench in the game against Fiorentina at San Siro.

Yesterday, during his press conference, Milan’s new No.9 (although he chose No.7) Morata was asked about Camarda and his future. The Spaniard stated that he wants to help the youngster make it as far as possible.

“I met him [Camarda] today. I watched his games, he scored many more goals than when I was in the Real youth team! I just want to help him, make him grow. He will be the future, or maybe the present, in football you never know. Maybe I’ll sit on the bench for him. I just want to help the boys. I’m someone who jokes with young people but also gets angry if they don’t do things well,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Camarda will be given the chance from start under Paulo Fonseca. Above all, he will be working with Daniele Bonera and Milan Futuro, but it is more or less certain that we will see him off the bench with the first team.
