Gallery: ‘Another 2-3 signings’, ‘Mendes is the sporting director’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

The cogs are turning at AC Milan and the Rossoneri are looking increasingly likely to have a major mercato this summer.

Signing Goncalo Ramos is a big statement of intent from Milan. Not only have they gone after a direct target from their new head coach, but they have also shattered their record transfer to provide him with a gift.

Even if he is not your ideal choice, there is no denying that there are some very positive signs from Gerry Cardinale already this summer. Perhaps an easy tap in, so to speak, but they still are there to be taken. Now, the Rossoneri have taken this one.

However, it seems likely that he will not be the only major addition this summer. Indeed, there may be a few more major-level signings to help improve the team’s general strength and depth – two of the big issues in recent years.

It is certainly a promising start and here is what the Italian papers are stating this morning, June 28.

Today’s Italian papers

Gazzetta dello Sport

“Milan: three more signings. Cardinale-Amorim summit in Lisbon. Four-hour meeting, transfer market on the table. Antonio Silva and Hjulmand targets, big names locked away.”

Corriere dello Sport

“Alajbegovic, a temptation for Milan. After Ramos, the hunt for a winger. And there’s Casado.”

Tuttosport

“Mendes is the sporting director of Milan. Antonio Silva is coming. After Gonçalo Ramos, the super agent is preparing other signings: Casadó, Trincão, and the Benfica defender.”

  1. Cant wait for everyone to complain even more now that money is being spent, this fanbase is never happy online, only complaining is allowed.

    1. Man every article here is a race to know who will complain in the comment section first. Will it be Boulden complaining that people might eventually complain? Will it be the “never happy fanbase” that should sht up and let rich idiots being rich idiots at peace? You win that one, champ!

  2. António Silva is a very solid central defender. Strong character, mature, brave, good young player with a big development margin. Great transfer. If Milan nurture him he will be a leader for years to come. Gonçalo Ramos is, my opinion, one of the best European striker. + than 20 goals guaranteed and 10 assists plus first defender of the team. GREAT TRANSFER
