In January, it appeared AC Milan were going to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta at the death. However, they opted against the move due to his physical condition.
With Milan needing a striker, they made a last-ditch effort to sign Mateta and it seemed they were going to land the Frenchman. After days of will they or won’t they, though, the Rossoneri opted against the deal, citing physical issues in the medical.

Since then, the striker has spent a little bit of time out and now has returned to Crystal Palace’s squad. Indeed, he is back scoring and the Diavolo appear to have seen enough to go again for the summer mercato.
Perhaps it is the work of Giorgio Furlani, though, as opposed to a club-wide ambition to sign him.
Moretto’s Mateta admission
Whoever is behind it is likely to be disappointed. Indeed, transfer specialist Matteo Moretto has reported that nothing is going on and it will be difficult to sign him in a few months, MilanNews relays.
