Yesterday afternoon, AC Milan benefited from one thing. They got to see a potential midfield addition dominate a battle.
There has been no shortage of links between Milan and midfielders. As the season continues, there will probably be more to come still. Yet, the Rossoneri may only need to consider one man. Indeed, that could be Ismael Kone.
In recent days, the Canadian midfielder has been compared to Adrien Rabiot – a complete package, comfortable in defensive and offensive areas of the game – and against the Rossoneri, he showcased his traits.
Kone ‘confirmed’ as a target
It seems that his performance has only confirmed the interest of Massimiliano Allegri and the management further, with Matteo Moretto reporting that their interest in the Neroverdi man has been ‘confirmed’, as MilanNews relays.
“In recent days, the management and Allegri have been talking and taking stock of the summer transfer window. It all revolves around Champions League qualification, of course. Today, sporting director Igli Tare confirmed Ismael Konè’s name.
“The Rossoneri have already had contact with his entourage; he’s a player Massimiliano Allegri really likes. Other teams, such as Inter, are also interested in him, but Tare’s comments confirm Milan’s strong interest.”
Of course, confirmation of interest does not mean they will land the midfielder. However, with the Sassuolo director confirming that there could be a ‘derby’ in the mercato, it seems that some talks have occurred.

I was so mesmerized and captivated by Milans slow laborious unimaginative clueless play that i completely neglect to look at possible targets within Sassuolo…still not sure if Kone is the answer…and i say this guardedly because I can’t remember watching him play…but with this current show anything is better than some of our midfield personnel
Kone is rubbish he is slow and unskilled it will be big mistake to bring him to milan
Rubbish you say? You’re right, as is the entire ownership of this club. Sadly, AC Milan play the most boring football in Serie…by far!
Well done to Inter for their scudetto win. Deservedly so!
Before deciding if we want to bring Koné or not we need to know if Allegri is going to stay or not, what system are we playing next season, who is going to leave, and whoever the coach is or will be, he’ll should have a say on which player he needs.
Kone wouldn’t be raising the level of the team one bit though.
