A move for Christopher Nkunku has come about really quickly, and AC Milan will look to finalise things tomorrow.
Milan have certainly had an interesting window; several strikers have been linked and now Massimiliano Allegri will work with Nkunku, who is not really his ideal striker build. However, this is where Artem Dovbyk could help.

Nevertheless, the Rossoneri, less than 24 hours after the initial interest was reported, have agreed a deal to sign the Frenchman from Chelsea for around €42 million, with €35m being upfront. Interestingly, the Blues have inserted a sell-on clause for the future.
Rushing through
With things moving so quickly and the mercato ending shortly, the Rossoneri are not wasting any time in getting him in Milano. In fact, Matteo Moretto (via MilanNews) writes that, all being well, he will sign his contract with the club tomorrow.

Presumably, the deal will be confirmed before the game against Lecce, though this is only speculative. Either way, he will not be able to feature this weekend, so there should be no rush getting things over the line.
However, it is a big move for a striker who has not been brilliant for Chelsea since joining. It also needs to be seen how Allegri will utilise the Frenchman.

Yes, when is his medical? It is really suspicious Bayern backed out when there was no option to loan him with obligation after certain number of games.
He is highly versatile (CF, SS, RW, LW, AM) and at Leipzig he was one of Europe’s best attackers. I think he will do well in Italy, as long as he does not get a series of injuries.
Yes but that is Lookman money. Him or Nkunku, no brainer. Didn’t see Milan even try.
They both have 27 years. Lookman had in his best season 26 g/a combined. Nkuku had 51 g/a. Its not even close.
I don’t care about best season. What kind of a comparison is that? How about we bring Ibrahimovic out of retirement cause he had this season where he was better than both of them? Or this guy Van Basten? What do you think? Who cares about “best season” when Nkunku spent most of the time after it injured?
if he miss half of the season but do it like he did in Leibzig, he will sitll outscore Lookman. In the same way your argument wont work. If the past work do not serve as comparison it wont matter what lookman did in those seasons too
It is not the same way. We are talking about Lookman having the last season good, which ended a few months ago, and Nkunku being good once upon a time, years ago. Anyway, I hope he does good but he also has to pass the medical first.
Lookman wanted a transfer to Inter that the club agreed with him. He wasn’t gonna sign up for a year in midtable with us and allegri. Anyone who thought we’d have a chance there was delusional
Nkunku can definitely do well if he stays uninjured
If you don’t try you don’t know. The Inter transfer failed because they didn’t want to offer more money, and he had no options for some time. Now Arsenal swooped in so it is obviously impossible.
Didn’t Inter look at him like a month ago ?
Yes, but they didn’t want to offer over 40M from what I read. And he will 99% sign for Arsenal now. That ship has sailed. But we are paying over that amount for Nkunku. 😀
Cheap Marotta thought that Atalanta would sell to us at a discount price. lol
Feels like Okafor 2.0 – out of nowhere …
I’ll be surprised if Allegri makes it through the whole season. Furlani and his henchmen will make Allegri out to be the bad guy if this season doesn’t go well and Allegri will tolerate it to a point. I think a time will come when Allegri will just say what we all know, he wasn’t allowed the players he wanted, the money ball decisions have hurt Milan and he’s in a no win scenario. I think at this point it’s obvious why Conte was never going to be Milan’s coach.
Yes but when the guys he wants are an out of form vlahovic and the dressing room cancer that is rabiot, you cant make that argument all that well. Those 2 would not save us from anything. His last term at juve can tell you that
Yes, cancer that all the clubs want to keep and his former coaches want him. Proven it already. I can go again.
If nkunku would have gone to bayern or atletico or any top club they would say what a signing, but here a milan we say hes comparable to okafor or lookman is better. Italian media and fans already put him down before he even starts but how about we give him a chance? Because he has the potential to be even better than lookman and be one of the best players in the team. Pulisic was poor on Chelsea and now he’s one of milans best players. If nkunku even looks close to what he was at Leipzig we have a top 5player in serie a. I swear people complain no matter what, would have preferred harder?
Yes. Harder is a promising talent, Nkunku is a guy that missed out a lot due to injuries, similar to Boniface. In reality I would prefer Boniface but he is not fit.
i understand what u mean . i would als o prefer bonniface . but theyre injuries are not even close , and yea boner face was also younger but he is more of a what if than nkunku , at least with nkunku he is a striker-at least some what and can be okafor replacement or switch starting roles with pulisic
Yes, he can be good but there were other better options for that money, if we didn’t leave it until last 4 days of the window.
Didnt see this coming😯
Comparable to Okafor? Lmao what are some people here smoking? Go get a refund from the dealer.
You’re always so sure of all of these names and signing. Why don’t you wait and see how it turns out? There are already red flags, first and foremost being that this guy isn’t a no. 9 and we’re in desperate need of a no. 9.
I’m shocked that we spent 42M on a 27 year old dwarf (1.77M/5’8″!) who has scored 113 goals in 356 career games, of which he’s played a whopping 39 as a center forward. He’s been used at AM (68 games), CM (64), SS (59), and LW (41) more often. Is he replacing Leao or Pulisic? I’m confused. We’ve let so many good center forwards pass us by in the last two or three summers what we could have gotten for the same or less only to end up with this huge question mark of a player who seems not to play his best in the position we’re bringing him in to play. It’s like this club just cannot learn from its mistakes. It’s bizarre.
Oh wait, he’s precisely the player we need, because he’s going to play SS behind Vlahovic when we sign the latter for free in 2026, after we sell Pulisic and Leao in Allegri’s stupid quest to use 3-5-2. FFS. What a circus this club has become.
When the contract is signed and the inked is dry, then I believe.
Once upon a time it was Pazza Inter
If the medics can do a good job on him, like Pulisic, this could be a very good signing.
I see him more of a LW or inside left forward than a CF
A SS maybe
But we probably, probably , could get a better player for the kind of money we’re ready to invest in this deal.
But why can’t the transfer strategy be signing proven players already in Serie A
Doesn’t sound like Vlahovic is going anywhere so if Max insist on 352 I guess that’s where Nkunku comes in.
So a 5’9″ 150 lb player for 42M .. why do we keep collecting Okafors and Chukwuezes ???
