Matteo Moretto has confirmed that AC Milan could listen to offers for Youssouf Fofana this summer, despite his importance.
With the end of the season drawing ever closer, the first discussions about the summer transfer market have already begun. The Milan management are making their assessments ahead of the mercato, with several players from the current squad potentially leaving.

Fofana on the move?
Among these is Fofana, the protagonist of the latest video by transfer expert Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel. He confirmed the reports circulating which have suggested that a sale is far from being out of the question.
“Milan are focused on the Champions League race. Qualification is crucial both from a sporting standpoint and from a future planning perspective,” he began (via MilanNews).
“Initial internal assessments are already underway, regarding the transfer market, and there are some players who could leave. Fofana’s name is worth keeping an eye on ahead of the summer: he’s 27, with a contract until 2028, and he hasn’t adapted very well to Allegri’s Milan.
“Should an interesting offer arrive this summer, we expect Milan to consider it: in January, they had approaches from Turkish clubs, but after that, nothing came of it.”
As a reminder, MilanNews reported last week that Fofana is the man that Milan could ‘sacrifice’ in order to raise funds to help bolster other parts of the squad. The links with Leon Goretzka suggest a new starter for the midfield is being sought.

Of course not, because he was the Moncada’s idea. Consult the coach and get his approval on transfer targets. Moncada and to some extent Furlani need to leave. The top management must work as a unit for a club to gain positive results on the pitch and enterprise value as a business. Furlani and Moncada just buy and sell at their will to make money while Allegri is set aside and forced to work with whatever he has available. Tare is in an even worse situation, he is just a janitor here, shipping out the unwanted/unneeded players.
Foolishness. It’s Ricci who should be sold. There’s no reason to keep him especially if Modric stays for another year. Jashari and Modric are both better at playing in front of the defense than Ricci.
Ricci is not a mezzala. Fofana has offered more defensively and offensively than Ricci. Sell Ricci and buy Ederson.
I have no comment on Jashari because I haven’t seen him play much. I didn’t even really notice that Ricci was playing last game. Most of the time he doesn’t seem to offer much. Well, if they are looking to keep Italians on the team he is sort of OK as a back-up. I say sort of because if (a big if now) ACM get CL ball even the back-ups are going to get more game time.
I think Ricci is better than Fofana and can be a solid starting midfielder for Milan. The problem for Milan is the defense.
We don’t have a proper left back and a proper right back.
Bart is not good enough defensively to play in a back 4, and neither is Salad.
That’s just the reality of the situation. They are good at wing-back positions because our back 3 are quick, big, and strong.
I like that idea. Always been a fan of Ederson. Although if Juve don’t make CL I’d love to look into the Thuram possibility.
Jashari lol. He needs to be sold as well, while other clubs don’t figure out he isn’t a 40M player…Fofana is better than Jashari in any position in midfield. Anywhere.
Jashari hasn’t gotten any chance to grow into a role. Give him another year like Tonali got and then met’s see if he’s not good enough. Fofana has been given both time and chances and he is not consistent enough to be considered a top player. He has some great assists, but we need other things in the team going forward.
Fofana is played out of position this season. He was given half a season at his position, and then he was moved to a position he admitted doesn’t understand fully. Read his interview. Jashari and Ricci were useless buys. Spent 70M on them. Waste of money. If they bought a striker or Tonali for this money Milan would be way better.
Or imagine 115 million on a striker with NKunku money spent there….
with the last game it proves that our defense is built for 3-men system.
our most prominent attackers need to be on the flanks. playing in the center needs specific skills. Puli and Leao need to be on flank to have safety on at least one side.
3+3 leaves 4 for the midfield. hence if we have a regista and a muscle-head for the double-pivot, we will be utilizing our team in the best way we can.
Fofana and Ricci can be those type of player to give space and freedom to Jashari and Modric. they aren’t the box crashers that we have been using them as, they need to be in the deep. Rabiot is just jack of all trades ngl… so just keep the midfield as it is, minus RLC!
only issue is that our fullbacks need to be more dynamic then. Alexis is only ready for that role. Barte needs to work on pace and Athekame is still developing…
Gila/Lucumi
Zalewski
Vlahovic/Kean/Retegui
Brahim Diaz/Orsolini
LOL
The classic Furlani signing. 20 mil. , sort of good in some games, utter garbage in other, then sold in 2 years time to the best bidder. When are the fans in Milan going to realize these despicable beings won’t change their player trading approach and start giving them money for tickets and merchandise?
Because none of this is geared towards die hard fans anymore. It’s all for tourists and casual fans – the stadium is full of them every match outside of the Curva.
Funny how you say the die hard fans aren’t the ones willing to put their money down to see the club. I get the sentiment but the reality is clubs with global audiences will attract fans from all over. Besides some could argue a person willing to spend €100 on a ticket, fly hours just to watch a game are better fans than those with a truly provincial mindset. The petulance thing to say the people who spend the most on the club aren’t “real” fans while contrasting couch potatoes like yourself as worthy. You spend so much time attacking everything Milan yet give nothing but entitled sentiment online? Such a loser mentality that has infected so many in Italy has ruined calcio…
I really want to ask, in your opinion, who are die hard fans? People that go to matches? Are people from Croatia or England more die hard fans considering it is way more complicated for them to attend a game compare to an Italian guy from Milano?
One Player in Midfield to be sold is RLC
Then add Comotto to learn from Modric
Then add someone more attacking than defending and hold the ball.
Also we should stick with 3-5-2 and add depth not selling players.
Add Two CBs Tiago Gabriel and Gila
Last
Sell Gimenez and Nkunku and add Kean and Castro
Sell Estupinian and Buy Destiny Udogie or Bellanova if he can play as LWB/LM Antonee Robinson Galeno Ratiu Sergi Cardona
Some here are saying fofana need to stay but Ricci to leave. Lmao. What has fofana after all his playing minutes done for this team. U expect a players who are stuck on the bench to explode immediately when given minutes, but the one who has minutes does nothing. Fofana has not dribbling,no techniques, cant shoot, can’t think, can’t position himself to receive pass, he is just a raw player.
His role is the Nigel de yong one, but he is also told to move forward and score. What a confused team
Ricci was bought as regista right? The problem has been transfer strategy. Modric, Ricci, jashari all for one position?
That is Fofanas position as well, this is the best part. Before this season he always played there.
Modric Ricci Jashari aren’t for one position don’t u see the 3-5-2?
Ricci is an alternative to Fofana Rabiot RLC which is a shorter with more movement.
Jashari is a CDM
Modric was brought to bring exp and be mentor to them (jashari ricci)
The real problem is tthe one who allegri cant use with confidence is RLC.
So if he leaves i would want someone Like Goretzka or Kovacic that can help even more being mentor to these younger players Jashari was named MVP in CL for a month and he played very well that carch eyes from big clubs.
Ricci was the only good italian that left without some bigger Italian team to pick him up hes good player btw
Maybe if not for Goretzka or Kovacic maybe we can try for rovella since lazio bought him perma.
We have 6 midfielders for 3 positions in the lineup so…..
Ricci in his natural habitat is a Regista and not an alternative for our mezzalas. He’s being played out of position due to Modrić. Same goes for Jashari.
None of the things he wrote are correct. There is no point to reply to a person that really doesn’t understand anything.
I think jashari+ ricci investment for long term while modric near end up his career. For fofana, hes always out of position when milan need some play defense. That’s why Modric+ rabiot always back up fofana position. Both of them should more attacking minded.
