Moretto: Galatasaray offer Calabria ‘substantial’ pay rise – his response

By Oliver Fisher -

Galatasaray have come forward and made an offer to Davide Calabria but he has rejected the idea of joining them, according to a report.

Calabria is in a strange position whereby his contract expires in 11 months and a renewal does not seem to be imminent, while Milan are seemingly pushing to sign a new right-back – with Emerson Royal close to arriving – that could take his starting spot.

Moreover, reports have surfaced suggesting that the Milan captain wants a big pay rise in order to renew his deal and it is one that the management have not been willing to offer for the time being.

According to the latest from Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano on their Playback stream (via MilanNews), Galatasaray have come forward with an attempt to try and sign Calabria.

The Italian has taken note of what the Turkish club are offering him – and it is ‘substantially superior’ to his current salary at Milan – but he has decided not to accept.

The also state that an offer came in from Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia for Yacine Adli but again the player turned it down because he does not want to leave, while Fode Ballo-Toure is wanted by Watford and Leeds.

  1. This is an unnecessary headache.
The management is about to strike a deal with Emerson Royal, and Florenzi is out for a while.
With Emerson being more active offensively, Calabria being more on the defensive side, let them battle it out. This department is covered.
Unless Fonseca changes his mind again about Kalulu’s position, there is no need to disturb the peace in a position that doesn’t seem to be a priority.

    1. Management already decided to disturb the peace last summer and the purge of the last of true milanisti is proceeding according to plan.

      Hold on Capitano!

      1. Who might that last Milanisti be? Degenerate gambler that already met with Newcastle management in March and already agreed the terms, so when transfer window opened all they needed was to negotiate a price with Milan? Great Milanista that was.

Maybe it was Maldini, who was offered to stay on and work as part of the team, but he refused becuse he wanted to be the only decision maker and resigned. Another great Milanista.

A gambler that agreed to sell his services long before club ever considered selling him, or guy whose ego came before the club he supposedly loves?

        1. Kessie left, no replacement. Tonali sold, no replacement. Needed a DM for 433, no DM for 433. Needed a proper striker up front, relied on 37 year old Giroud (luckily he did not pick any injury). Loan out Gabbia to buy Pellegrino for 5 millions just to loan him out in January and bring Gabbia back.

Impressive planning. But what to expect when you’re run by fund key account manager, a bank portfolio manager and a one hit wonder scout.

        2. For that gambler, you were able to buy players last summer .
For the director, not everyone likes green papers. Some have dignity, professional ethics, they don’t want to be a yes man. It’s not ego!

          So shut your mouth please.

  2. If Galatasaray offers a bag of chips is a big win for this cone. Make it happen!

PS: Maldini’s Heir, save your insults and stuff. I am fan of AC Milan, not AC Calabria

      1. Do you ask someone to write all that nonsense you’re always vomiting on this site for you? I can’t honestly believe you have the braincell budget to afford using a cellphone or a computer, it just doesnt make sense for someone who say the things you say to have what it takes to use a phone or brush their teeth

  3. This is modern cardinale milan. We need less italian, more foreign.

We almost get royal, now we need to dump our former italian captain calabria.

  4. No players is bigger than AC Milan but neither is any fans bigger than our players so to those who like to bash our players or former fan favorites SHUT THE F UP as you ain’t even fit to polish those players shoes.

  5. I dont get choosing to play in Serie C over the saudi league…its both hurting the club and his career in the long run.

  6. You can see what a player is worth by looking at the quality of teams that are going for them. Galatasaray is so far the most prestigious club with an offer this window. Otherwise it’s teams like Strasbourg…

This should tell everybody why Milan doesn’t rate him or find it worth extending his contract. Calabria is mid at best, and if he wasn’t Italian people would realize that.

Emerson, Kalulu & Terraciano are enough for the RB position
