‘Optimistic about Modric’s renewal’ – Moretto gives hope with Milan feeling confident

Luka Modric’s future has been a topic since before the first game of the season. After signing a deal with an option to extend, AC Milan have been hoping he would since he was announced.

With a player like Modric, Milan will always hope to have him. A star of the game and a star of the team, the Rossoneri benefit on so many levels from having him around. It is simple and his class has shone throughout this year.

For Modric, though, the future has depended on a few things. Firstly, that the club re-enter the Champions League and now, that Allegri is backed with a competitive mercato. After all, he wants to end his career on a high.

Suggestions are that the Diavolo will do this and reports are writing that the chances of Modric remaining a Milanista are rising.

Modric scales turning

This morning, Matteo Moretto spoke on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel and things are certainly looking positive, as MilanNews relays.

“Sporting director Igli Tare has effectively taken a positive stance, casting great optimism about Luka Modric staying at the Rossoneri for another year. I recall that Modric has an option in his contract, so the plus-one will be up to him to decide whether or not to stay at Milan for another season.

“Tare stated that he believes he will stay, he will choose with his heart. The choice hasn’t been 100% made yet, but the intention, the direction seems to be the same.

“When the final decisions are made, so to speak, we will update you, but in any case, Modric, who is still considering his future, is showing signs of optimism about continuity, especially and also thanks to the work of the club and Allegri, who are trying to reassure him, also by giving him certain sporting guarantees for the coming year.

“A year in which Milan will most likely play in the Champions League and will be involved in multiple competitions, so this aspect will be important.”
