Moretto: Milan and Bologna agree €10-15m Pobega deal – documents being exchanged

AC Milan and Bologna are currently exchanging documents for the transfer of Tommaso Pobega with the Rossblu set to sign the midfielder on loan.

As reported by Matteo Moretto on X, the two clubs are very close to striking a deal that would see Pobega join Vincenzo Italiano’s side on loan for the season and there would also be an option for that deal to become permanent.

Pobega is expected to arrive in Bologna today to finalise the deal and the belief is that €10-15m will be needed from Bologna to make the deal permanent in 2025.

This move may not quite be enough for Milan to make a decisive shift towards Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach given there is no guarantee that the permanent transfer will take place.

Pobega is one of three midfielders that Milan could sell in the final week of the window but Ismael Bennacer is the one that holds the most value and is most likely to bring the funds that can be redirected towards Monchengladbach for Kone.

Pobega has worked under Italiano in the past during his loan spell at Spezia and he was immediately very open to the idea of joining the Rossblu, with Champions League football on offer.

  1. Adli and RLC next… Kone and a regista in

Jovic -> Ommorodion would be cherry on top but that takes actual management and leaders…

    1. I was kinda skeptical towards bologna since what happened to saelemakers with Bologna but that was due to Motta leaving.
Let’s hope they’ll buy pobega next year.

  2. The hate for RLC in the comment section makes no sense.

RLC is a fantastic player. There is not a single rumour about the Milan management not valuing his impact on the pitch.

He single-handedly ruined PSG last season in the UCL, he is such a unicorn of a midfielder. He is super tall but has great ball control and passing, he is also quick and great in the air when attacking the ball in the opposition box.

In my opinion, the only reason Milan will ever sell him is because he is now 29 and when he is 30, that speed will no longer be there.

If the reason people want to shift RLC out is because he is much too old to be relied on then fine, but do not question his effectiveness for this team.

    1. The people on this page just live to complain. We could sign Messi on a free transfer for 1$ per season and the people here will complain. Until we have an unbeaten season and win every match by 10 goals. These people won’t be happy

    2. That’s the thing tho, the only game that he is good last season are against PSG and Rennes, both games he really utilized his power and mobility to the games. But most of the time he look clueless and off tempo, weak at tackling and slow to cover runs, especially in serie A.

There is no rumors regarding him probably because there is no team wants him. Not good enough for big teams, too expensive for lower teams.

    3. Wow. He was useful for a handful of games. How terrific.

I won’t say I hate him. Hate is a specific word that people nowadays throw around like candy. But he definitely isn’t a player Milan should relay on. No consistency, most of the time he’s just plain useless on the field.

      1. I also find it funny how at 29 he has speed but turn 30yo and that speed is gone. Like he aged a decade not 365 days..
        Fûcking ridiculous

    4. That’s right, RLC is a very neat player. He doesn’t even soil his shorts in any game. Neither does he know how to slide in and take the ball, nor can anyone knock him down. The latter is an advantage. So RLC is meticulous and saves his shorts from being washed after the game.

    5. He was one of the better players last year for sure especially when you consider his 1st season in Seria A. He’s not the problem.

    6. Your love for RLC is too odd.. RLC is not a good attacker neither a good defender. Only thing he is good at is for his timely run on the penalty area. Bang avarage midfielder.

    7. RLC and Pobega are basically the same player in terms of style and quality lol. Only RLC is older and with higher sallary. I dont get how people hate on Pobega and praise RLC which is basically the same player in a different package.

      1. @Rossi, Is obvious that you don’t watch football by equating Pobega and loftus cheek. Leaving loftus cheek will be another calhanoglu story especially to inter. Loftus and Tijjani R, are our best midfielders so far.

        1. Lol Loftus and Calhanoglu cant even be put in the same sentence in terms of quality and skills. Loftus goes missing for 85min of the game. The only reason why they even play him in Milan is so they can somehow justify the money they wasted on him. Give Pobega the same playing time you will get the same results.

    1. Still better then just having him around for the Futuro costing money. Now Bologna takes his wage and he gets valuable playing time, and hopefully do well enough so they buy him, just like with CDK.

Next summer we’ll get the money from CDK + hopefully Pobega + Kalulu. Thats around 50-55 mil (23+17+10 to 15) if bonus requirements are met to add to next summers mercato budget.

Now lets hope Origi and Ballo-Toure leaves and they manage to sell Adli and buy Kone. Then we would have a solid squad for this season

    1. Exactly

Another poor deal by management. No $$ for us now and may not even be any next season. Should have been an Obligation to buy even at a lower fee – he is not a player we ever want back.

Can’t wait till next summer when name these loans are not redeemed and we are right back in the same situation.
