Moretto: Milan close to signing new Futuro star – who is Damir Zukic?

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are close to signing another player for Milan Futuro, with defender Damir Zukic expected to join Daniele Bonera’s team in Serie C.

As reported by Matteo Moretto (via Radio Rossonera), the 20-year-old defender from ND Primorje, a top Slovenian club, is going to be the next arrival for Bonera.

Silvano Vos is expected to land very soon and he will operate between Milan Futuro and the first team during the season depending on how well he performs.

The Slovenian defender is right-footed and there has been a lot of interest in him from a Bulgarian club during the summer, but the project at Milan and the potential pathway to the first team is more appealing for him.

Bringing Zukic into the fold will offer Bonera another defensive option for what could be a very long season with plenty of games.

He actually only joined his current team six months ago but has taken advantage of the opportunities presented to him and has shown enough that Milan were alerted to his quality. He has played five times for the senior team since February and impressed during a crucial 3-0 win against the reigning champions of the Slovenian top flight, so he may feel more senior than other defenders in the team.

  1. The guy hasn’t even been able to play Slovenian youth international matches and is twenty years old and we are supposed to believe that he is targeted for anything but making up for numbers ?
Hope he does well though if he joins us.
