Moretto: Milan ‘confident’ of closing deal with RB Salzburg for Italian striker

AC Milan remain in negotiations with Red Bull Salzburg over the signing of Nicolò Turco and they are confident they can get a deal done, according to one journalist.

Salzburg are known for identifying talents, developing them and selling them on, with the likes of Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Benjamin Sesko, Karim Adeyemi and Dominik Szoboszlai all heading to bigger clubs from the Austrian side.

According to what is being reported by Matteo Moretto of Relevo, the Milan management are continuing to push to bring Turco back to Italy where he would be part of Daniele Bonera’s Futuro side.

The negotiations between the clubs are not yet at the stage where we can talks about signatures, but there is ‘confidence’ that Milan will reach the finish line and acquire a talent that is ‘very popular’ among the management.

Turco left Juventus a year ago in what was a surprising move to many, and the 19-year-old has spent a year developing his game in Austria following the €2.5m switch, but he has not played as much as he would like.

Reports earlier this month suggested that the Rossoneri are looking to offer him a return to his home country, and now things seem to be on the home straight. It feels likely that he would be the back-up for Francesco Camarda.

  1. It seems to be a good plan, Camarda’s backup. We all need Camarda to feature prominently in the senior team this season.
