Artem Dovbyk remains on AC Milan’s list for the final days of the transfer window, but there is also some competition to take into consideration.
Despite signing Christopher Nkunku for around €38m, Milan might not be done with the attack just yet. The soon-to-be former Chelsea man is clearly not a classic striker, which is what most fans believed the Rossoneri need right now.

In recent days, Roma’s Dovbyk has been mentioned as an option that could materialise as we get towards the transfer deadline. The Giallorossi are happy to part ways with the striker and could even do so on loan, which has inevitably piqued Milan’s interest.
Dovbyk remains an option
According to Matteo Moretto, several clubs are keeping tabs on Dovbyk and Villarreal are one of them, though their pursuit may have already ended. In fact, the player isn’t convinced about going back to Spain and prefers to keep his options open.
Therefore, the striker could become an option for Milan in the final days of the mercato, regardless of Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican has made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave the Rossoneri and subsequently, a swap deal cannot be made with Roma.
The journalists didn’t mention any formula, but it seems clear that the Rossoneri want to secure Dovbyk on loan, initially at least.
I think with an option to buy would be a decent compromise.

LB is also somewhat unstable with Estupinan (was so confused vs Cremonese, don’t really want to see him go against Dumfries or Cabiasso) and unproven Barte

Again, it’s confusing as to who is really running this mercato.
I think a fan pool on social media would do better. If they asked people to vote for signings we’d get a better team. Of course the Nkunku and Boniface fans would try to push them like they do in the comments here but it wouldn’t work.
Gimenez needs a goal tonight…or his time in the squad will be limited with the new arrivals and Leao and Pulisic return.
Think Milan needs another attacking player for depth regardless. Especially at striker. Keep Santi and add Dovbyk.
Might not be the best option but certainly not the worst.
