Moretto: Milan and Fulham in talks over ‘permanent transfer’ for winger

AC Milan and Fulham are in talks over a permanent transfer for Samuel Chukwueze, according to a report, following a dormant interest from the English side.

Chukwueze joined Milan in the summer of 2023 and while glimpses of his quality have been seen, it’s not exactly been a super successful tenure so far. In 70 appearances, he has managed 8 goals and 6 assists for the Rossoneri, which isn’t good enough for a right-winger.

As a result, a transfer has never been ruled out this summer and the interest of Fulham, which has been evident since January, has always been in the background. Just last week, Matteo Moretto reported that a ‘late attempt’ could arrive from the club.

Talks ongoing

Sure enough, as the journalist predicted and now expands on, Fulham have initiated talks with Milan over a permanent transfer for Chukwueze. The Rossoneri made it clear earlier on that they wouldn’t accept a loan formula, so having the permanent element is a huge step forward.

No price tag has been mentioned in the media yet, but Milan would probably demand around €25-30m to offload the former Villarreal man. Especially when you consider that he will be their only attacking option on the bench against Lecce on Friday.

It remains to be seen if more updates will arrive during the day, but if Fulham truly are serious, that will likely be the case.

  1. He never really stood a chance as the 20m understudy to Pulisic.

What a waste of time for everyone involved especially Chukwueze.

And of course the club faffed around with Saelemaekers.

  2. Considering Moncada was in Spain watching Sevilla players, it’ll probably be Lukebakio replacing Chuk. Same sh*t, different package.

  3. if we can ever get 20M, grab and run ffs…

we need Kiwior (26M), Rabiot (10-15M), Vlahovic (10-15M)… and if we have a sliver of ambition Lookman instead of Harder… we are literally giving them Musah; add Harder money and get the Nigerian

Pulisic can operate way better as box-crasher than RLC can ever be… (keep the Englishman for easier games, but never with Fofana. 2 wrongs don’t make it right)… during Cremonese I was impressed by Puli yet again… never lazy to run, was everywhere (unlike the dynamic duo: Fofana and RLC)

    Leao/Gimenez – Vlahovic/Lookman

    Estupinan/Jimenez – Jashari/Rabiot – Ricci/Fofana – Pulisic/Modric/RLC – Alexis/Jimenez*/Athekame

    Kiwior/Pavlovic/Barte – Gabbia/Kiwior* – Tomori/DeWinter

    Maignan/Torriani/Terracianno

    1. Totally agreed. Don’t understand why Pulisic didn’t play in Fofana’s position. Pulisic would have converted at least one of the shooting chances!

  4. I don’t think this management, the way they do things to take us where we wants to go. That is to achieve, to become protagonist, domestic or Europe. As a result of unnecessary changes. And also right player to depose or right player to bring in. Most players that sold are because of their pocket not interest of developing the team. Tijjani and Tonali case study. Right now milan looking for a player that bring links to ours centre forward and Loftus cheek cannot do that. Milan needs to give another season to chuk than sale، everyone knows that he is vice to capt America. Not get enough time . If milan can hold and bring back salamaker than chuk need to stay. Suppose where milan need to touch is cheeks ،musa and fofana. For cheeks lacks creativity and not consistent. Fofana not a player to relayed and always on struggle while musa many clubs persue him and also not a midfield that can depend.
