Moretto: Milan not rushing to begin Giroud renewal talks – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not yet made a decision regarding the future of Olivier Giroud despite some reports suggesting that a renewal is close.

Giroud joined Milan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 and he has scored some very important goals across the last three-and-a-bit seasons, including derby winners and in the Scudetto run-in.

His deal expires at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, and Matteo Moretto reports for SOSFanta that Giroud’s future will be better understood in the summer.

Negotiations for his renewal have not yet started and it is not considered an urgent topic by the Rossoneri management, who are focusing on other priorities at the moment.

There will certainly be time to discuss the options and to understand which path both parties wish to take, but what Moretto reports suggests there is no certainty that the 37-year-old will remain for a fourth season despite the player’s hints that he wishes to do so.

  1. Is it just me or is this site even more foked than it was before? Like for writting and stuff, the news has always been bs anyway

  2. Other than a few game analysis and player ratings after games, only one in every 20 articles are actually written by someone from SempreMilan. All transfer, renewal, or similar articles are just copy/paste of what is published on other media outlets. They even stated themselves they don’t guarantee the accuracy or validity of information, they just post it how they themselves found it. Nay article regarding transfer rumors is a prime example of that.
