AC Milan have opened talks with Nottingham Forest to sign Brazilian midfielder Danilo with the deal expected to be in excess of €25m.
As reported by Matteo Moretto on X, the Rossoneri are looking at an array of midfield options and Danilo is now one of them, along with Youssouf Fofana and Manu Kone.
There is no denying that Fofana from AS Monaco is the midfielder that Milan have wanted the most and efforts are still ongoing to sign the Frenchman.
There is no suggestion that a bid for Danilo is imminent, but Milan are gathering information in the event that they can’t sign Fofana.
The 23-year-old signed for Nottingham Forest in January 2023 from Brazilian side Palmeiras for €20m, and they will be expecting to make a profit on him.
Moretto’s report says that he has a valuation in excess of €25m but it is not clear how much more than that figure Forest would actually demand, especially towards the end of the window when they will need to sign a replacement.
Fofana is very keen on signing for Milan and is waiting for the two clubs to find an agreement, but Milan are laying the groundwork for other players to be safe.
He got EU passport?

So we can only sign/register EU player/player holding EU passport. So if Danilo has no EU passport, we can’t register him.
Emerson Royal has Spanish passport as well as brazilian ,he is not non-EU player…

We should keep our lowball strategy, this strategy make us profitable. If nothingham reject it, we can still swap salad with chiesa, and make chiesa our defensive midfielder.

That’s not how passports work. You actually need to have some form of lineage. This is how Johnny Cardoso has an Italian passport. Also Cardoso is a DM strictly. But don’t see you bringing him up.

You guys have to stop panicking to any articles written. Nothing says we’re negotiating for him, plus the $25M is the asking price according to the article, not what Milan is willing to offer if there’s any interest at all. You have to wait to to see if Milan is interested and how much they offer. Stop with crying under any article that talk about rumors on players they want to send to Milan.
100 hundred – yes. but the problem is that he will be not cost 25 million, but 35 million. I’m afraid we cannot afford him. But still we could focus on Andre or Pablo Maia. they are also very talented.
One thing i don’t understand is,if you want fofana so bad that means you need him,so if you cant get him it would be logical to look for a new player similiar to him,danilo is nothing like fofana,he is more like benaccer,the only thing they share is a DM position
Fofana is not a true DM, we need a true DM. So Danilo or Cardoso make actually more sense than Fofana.
Not that I think our management knows what a DM is anyways.
