Milan have had a rigorous interviewing process at the start of this summer, as explained by Matteo Moretto, with a majority of the interviews taking place over Zoom.
It’s been almost three weeks since Gerry Cardinale made the decision to sack the entire Milan management. At the time, it was hinted that replacements would arrive quickly but evidently, that hasn’t been the case.

Instead, they have carried out interviews with many different candidates and while Oliver Glasner is the current frontrunner, they are still not done with the process. More candidates are still being talked to, even if the search has narrowed.
One step closer?
According to Matteo Moretto, as transcribed by Francesco Nasato, Cardinale has definitely put his stamp on the interviewing process as several calls have been done via Zoom. In fact, there have been multiple before even meeting in person.
“Milan have a very American modus operandi right now, i.e. Zoom interviews, remote interviews. There is a maximum of three of them, then they move on to in-person interviews. I know that right now they are in the in-person interview stage,” he stated.
It remains to be seen when the new head coach will be announced, but it’s almost certain that it won’t happen before the end of the week. And most likely not at the start of next week either.
We’ll still have these same coach/SD speculations one week before the Serie A starts in August. 🤷♂️🤦♂️

This stalling of selecting a sporting director and a coach with little time left for the new seasons beginning is a sign of very deficient owner and businessman. Another 10 years of wilderness for Milan and their supporters, very sad times.
