Yunus Musah is now just one step away from leaving AC Milan, as Atalanta are ready to submit an official offer to the Rossoneri.
Musah has been linked with an exit all summer long. Even when it seemed like Max Allegri was keen on keeping him around, the rumours didn’t stop. As such, it’s not exactly surprising to hear that the American could leave in these final days of the mercato.

Milan are pushing for the arrival of Adrien Rabiot, who is a direct request by Allegri, and they subsequently need to offload one of their midfielders. In terms of money to be made and the pecking order, Musah is the obvious choice.
Musah ever closer to Atalanta
As reported by Matteo Moretto in his latest YouTube video, Rabiot’s arrival would inevitably push Musah to the door. Contacts are ongoing between Milan and Atalanta over a transfer and the player has said yes to the destination.
Therefore, it can be described as a ‘fairly advanced negotiation’ for the time being, and Atalanta are ready to submit an offer of around €25m on the table. As Moretto concludes, Musah is now truly ‘close’ to joining the Bergamo side.
It would allow Milan to push for Rabiot’s arrival, while Atalanta could also sanction the sale of Marco Brescianini to Napoli.

They kept Musah at first because Allegri wanted to keep him. Now Allegri wants Rabiot and Musah has to be sacrificed. If you have an offer for 25 mil but refuse it at first and then still sell for 25 mil, you have neither lost nor won anything. Also seems better to sell him to Atalanta instrad of Napoli, because perhaps we can discuss Djimsiti with them. Better to keep Atalanta friends than Napoli. You can´t make any decision look like a farce, especially when you´re the one commenting they should give Allegri the players he wants. Well it was Allegri that didn´t want to lose Musah, but now apparently does if it can bring him Rabiot. I don´t think Rabiot is a good idea, but Allegri does. It will be on him to prove us wrong.

You can’t be such an amateur not to be able to drive the price up if there is interest from multiple clubs. It is a farce. If you don’t think the same it’s fine. I don’t agree with people that have opinions like that, never will. If you’re a sporting director and you have a player that multiple clubs want, you raise the price up or you are useless. You could have sold Musah for 25M.

These were and still are only rumours about the sum offered. It could well be that Napoli offered 18 + bonuses to come up to 25.
There was also PL interest, at least 2 clubs outside of Napoli/Atalanta inquiring about Musah. If it isn’t at least 25+5M I won’t think it is a good deal.
i would rather have musah then rabiot , why? because he can be sold to epl for a profit and our midfield is already decent, at least for this year , what we truly needed instead of harder was a good goal scorer, a proven one like boniface or just someone like that , and a good old cb that can provide stability to headless chickens tomori and pavlovich , idek what to say , i hope harder blows up and rabiot denies acmilan atp
Musah offers nothing. Rabiot is slow and lazy, but hugely gifted. He plays a different sport compared to Musah.

Absolutely, I was patient with him the first two seasons due to him being a great fighter and hoped he would develope into a good dm but he has basically not done anything but being a liability. People can argue that he has lacked stability and played far to many positions but even then what he has showcased is below what should and can be expected of a professional player.
Put Rabiot in 3 different positions whilst getting minimal game time and see how he does. We’re gonna end up paying his high salary for many years whilst he does nothing.
How many players have shown progress?
And how can a player show progress when 3 players are signed for each position in transfer window?
The club has just done the exact same thing with Modric/Ricci/Jashari.

There is some truth to this. It’s already in progress with the signing of Rabiot. One of Ricci and Jashari will necessarily lose time, since Allegri clearly will start Rabiot, and probably Modric, leaving one spot between Ricci, Jashari, RLC and Fofana, and it’s obvious Allegri prefers veterans over young talent. So I won’t be surprised if Ricci stalls and if we’re looking to sell Jashari in 2026 and struggle to recover the 35M spent on him. The circus will go on until we have better ownership who will hire better coaches (why didn’t we look at Maresca last summer or Farioli this summer?) who will have better plans for the squad.

It drives me f’ing mad when players go to other clubs and perform.
It shows that it’s the club dragging down players, and that means ALL players are underperforming.
Well that’s a truth with modifications because maybe he will just do better elsewhere as the environment or tactics suits him better there. Not all players are under performing in the club in recent years some has even had their best years with us. Musah hasn’t shown much except maybe in a couple to a handful of matches at max and its not like those performances has been extraordinary so better cut our losses here as we most definitely can do a LOT better.
And how many times has that happened? Only with Kerkez. All the other youngsters with potential that didn’t cut it at Milan have flopped.
I’d rather keep Musah and get rid of Fofana and RLC..

Anyone who can compete with the other midfielders is a better addition than Musah, who, most likely, will not get much game time throughout the season. If a move away can help unlock his hidden potentials, that’ll be good for him. At least, Milan is not selling him at a loss.

To be fair, they shoud have pushed to sell Chuk before Okafor. But it is how it is. Thumbs up and fingers crossed for a 20M€ bid from someone (anyone).

No, they haven’t. They’ve moved on a lot of underperforming players and made good signings. Even if things go wrong and Allegri is sacked, the next coach has a good squad and funds for a superstar striker. As long as we get UCL, there’s enough money for a €50 million striker.

I’ve been watching Musah for years with the US team. A good move for him – he’ll get playing time. I’m shocked that anyone would pay $25m – if you’d asked me a year ago what he’d fetch while playing 1/3 time, I’d have said $15m would be a stretch. Good money that we can use to pay Dusan’s salary this year and bring in Rabiot. Forza!
