Moretto: ‘Patience is needed’ as Milan could unlock Guerra operation in July

Javi Guerra is one of AC Milan’s main targets for the midfield this summer but as reported by Matteo Moretto, patience will be needed to secure the Spaniard.

Following the departure of Tijjani Reijnders, who was pivotal in the midfield last season, Milan are looking to add some reinforcements in that department this summer. In addition to Granit Xhaka and Luka Modric, Valencia’s Javi Guerra is a priority.

Last night, Sky Italia reported that Milan’s first offer of €16m plus bonuses had been rejected, with the Rossoneri currently working on a new one. According to Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, however, more patience will be needed for the operation.

“Milan like Javi Guerra, but for the transfer, patience is needed. Several steps still need to happen before we can talk about a heated negotiation. They are telling me that the operation could possibly be unlocked at the start of July.

“Valencia are in no hurry and are trying to renew his contract. It will be difficult, though, as the player wants to be the highest-paid player in the squad. As of today, there is distance regarding the renewal, but there also isn’t an agreement between Guerra and Milan, nor Milan and Valencia.

“Valencia asking for 25 million euros, perhaps a few million more even with bonuses,” he stated.

There is no immediate rush to secure Guerra’s services but at the same time, Max Allegri wants the players – especially the starters – at his disposal for most of the pre-season. As such, Milan will need to have a deadline for the negotiations, so as to avoid another Youssouf Fofana situation.

  1. First offer: 10million less than asking
Second offer: 9miion less thank asking

And on and on, Furlani and his rat ways. That salam could have just agreed to sell Musah and then make a legitimate offer for Guerra.

      1. Reading comprehension, how does it work? 10million less than asking. They want 25 mill, not 100 and we send a low ball offer. Remember when you said they weren’t selling Reijnders?

    1. No this kid’s fantastic- man of the match a couple of days ago in Spain U21 I wouldn’t dick around with Valencia if I were management… Not sure what happened to “an Italian Milan” though…

  2. Buy at least 2 world class midfielders, our striker would become goal machine. Remember Milan glory days ? Their midfielders was masterclass.

  3. They (management) still don’t acknowledge that they ARE the reason why new signings are failing.

They always play lowballing wait till the end of Summer Mercato and sign the players eventually… But there is no preseason for newcomers lol
That is the most important aspect for newcomers… Preseason.

Imagine you got a job in a different company… Without Introduction, they just assigned to you the big project immediately… You don’t even know your colleagues, your duties, their duties. It’s just start lol

Man City would be lowballing us for Tijjani and get him for cheaper… But they rushed… For preseason… They are done with transfers for the summer…

  4. I think liberali / scotti has the same comparison with guerra. The difference is guerra already play for first team. Liberali more talented than guerra. It just media overrated about it…
