Moretto: Qatari club makes official offer for Milan midfielder Adli – the latest

Yacine Adli’s position at AC Milan is a strange one. Last season, he played a pivotal role at the tail end of the season, helping cover bases when the midfield looked slim, and whilst he played an important part, he is not expected to be a part of Paulo Fonseca’s plans.

It is a difficult situation to navigate with Adli. He was originally an attacking midfielder who became a deeper player with ease towards the latter parts of the season and looked strong at points, but his future is seemingly not at the club.

Reports from earlier in the month suggested that should Youssouf Fofana arrive in the mercato, it could see two departures with Adli being one of those, and with the Portuguese coach wanting to strengthen the team physically, the midfielder does not fit that equation.

Of course, he can play a viable role within the squad, as we saw last season, but he does not provide the ideal profile for Fonseca, and it seems a departure is likely this summer following the recent reports of the Fofana pursuit.

According to Matteo Moretto (via Milan Eye on X), the Qatari club Al Sadd have presented an ‘official bid’ for the midfielder. However, it seems that the Frenchman has his eyes set on a move with higher prestige, given he is ‘not interested’ in a move at the moment.
