Conceicao and Moretto

Moretto: Renewal ‘highly unlikely’ for Conceicao as Milan exit looms – “99.9%”

Sergio Conceicao’s contract with AC Milan will expire in the summer and it’s 99.9% certain that it won’t be renewed, according to Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano.

Conceicao joined Milan in late December, following the sacking of Paulo Fonseca, and an initial six-month deal was signed. There is an option to extend the contract for another season but given the continued struggles on the pitch, it seems increasingly unlikely.

According to Matteo Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s channel, Milan have more or less decided to hire a new manager for next season. The aforementioned clause can only be triggered by the Rossoneri and as things stand, they want their new sporting director to choose a head coach as well.

A renewal is thus ‘highly unlikely’ for Conceicao, as Moretto continues, and sources close to the manager are already saying that his future will be elsewhere. All things considered, a farewell at the end of the season is ‘99.9%’ certain, as Moretto concludes.

Given that Milan need to make fundamental changes to their operations, it makes sense to entrust the sporting director with the task of picking a new manager. It’s the only way to avoid any potential conflicts down the line.

  1. How would Milan decide to hire a new coach if they are waiting for the new SD to make the decision? The whole statement is stupid, you have to be under 70IQ to say this.

  2. Milan need a coach who is also a leader in the dressing room. It will be difficult but I don’t see any options better than Allegri, Conte or Ancelotti to manage this team at Milan.

Gasperini often has a lot of issues with players as we have seen recently with Lookman. He has also failed at Inter. So I’m not 100% sure Gasperini can cut it at a top club that wants to win trophies every season.

Winning at Atalanta is easy as there is no pressure to win anything so both the coach and players can feel calm and just enjoy playing football. This explains why players who leave Atalanta often flop at other clubs.

De Zerbi has never worked with top players and he has never had the pressure to win anything. This can be a hit or miss. But given the circumstances at Milan I think we need a coach who can get into our players head and I don’t see that with De Zerbi.

Sarri can’t even sub Keppa for a penalty shoutout and that alone tells me that players don’t respect him. Sarri also has NO plan B if his style of play isn’t working. It’s 433 or nothing.

Fabergas is way too raw right now and needs more time to grow at Como. Not ready for a top club in my opinion. Maybe in another year or two.

  3. Maybe 0,01% this guy stay at Milan. Who knows. Allegri and paratici or another SD should be high demand for his salary. It could be a things that Milan would be stay with this guy. Remember Milan now have salary cap
