Moretto states Leao needs to negotiate with Milan rather than the media: “Saying so repeatedly”

Rafael Leao has made it crystal clear in recent weeks that his journey with AC Milan is over, but no movement has been made yet. 

A lot has been said about Leao’s future recently and unfortunately, most of it has come from the winger himself. Everyone is clear on the situation and that is thanks to the various statements to the media from the winger.

Nothing has been said by Milan – it probably wouldn’t anyway – but there is no one to dissect the statements or offer any reassurance on his future. So, there is nothing that can be done about his wishes to leave currently.

Leao’s repeated statements go unheard

Despite this, clubs can still register an interest in the forward. However, this is proving to be a difficulty in itself. According to Matteo Moretto, little to no movement has been made for the Portuguese and this may become problematic if it becomes a theme of the summer.

His comments on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel have been relayed by MilanNews.

“Leao’s statements and intentions are crystal clear. To date, I repeat and reiterate, the only club that has shown any concrete interest remains Galatasaray.

“Leao will want to wait, he’ll want to wait until he plays in the World Cup, he’ll want to wait to see what kind of offers might come his way, but as of today, let’s say there’s no one really interested in him yet.

“So I understand that Leao wants to leave Milan and he’s been saying so repeatedly in every language in the world, but a real negotiation between the clubs is also needed.”
