‘Not in pole position’ – Moretto states that Milan like Valdepenas but there is a problem

Recruiting from Real Madrid often brings plenty of benefits and AC Milan are aware of this. However, there are normally setbacks.

In recent years, Milan have not shied away from making signings from the Spanish giants. In fact, they have regularly worked well with the Galacticos to make deals. Unfortunately, they are often more one-sided than the other.

It is not just the Rossoneri who struggle with this, though. Across the elite level, it is well known that Los Blancos are fairly smart with their sales, especially when it comes to young players. Look at Nico Paz’s situation or Brahim Diaz’s a few years ago.

Youngsters leave for Real’s benefit with a clause normally present to allow them to capitalise on their progression.

Problems emerge with Valdepenas

Recently, it has been suggested that the Diavolo will make an attempt to sign Victor Valdepenas, a young defender. However, there are issues in the deal relating to the potential clauses, as Matteo Moretto stated on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, via Radio Rossonera.

“As of today, they’re not in pole position to acquire him. They’re not convinced by the formula. After Alex Jimenez, Milan wouldn’t want 50% of the future resale to remain with Real Madrid. A ‘demand,’ however, that the Blancos are unlikely to accept.”

  1. Ideally AC Milan shouldn’t buy players with resale clauses and certainly not as high as 50% and at max 20% but here’s a novelty thought buy players you want to keep instead of looking for the first possibilities arriving at your doorstep. Sell only when players has reached their deemed max potential right before it probably goes downhill.

  2. Brahim Diaz and Jimenez deal were beyond stupid. It’s like Milan are developing Real Madrid players for Real Madrid benefit only. The only signing that made sense was Theo Hernandez.
