AC Milan have reportedly decided not to go any further with their interest in Granit Xhaka, for various different reasons.

It is no secret that Milan are looking for another midfielder. Tijjani Reijnders was sold to Manchester City, while Samuele Ricci was made official last week and Luka Modric will follow him next week.

Xhaka is among the names that has been linked most consistently, with recent reports suggesting that the player has said yes to the move, and Fabrizio Romano even went on to claim that personal terms had been agreed.

Milan cool Xhaka interest

In recent days, there has been talk of Juventus going in for after discussions in recent weeks between Milan and Bayer Leverkusen had come to nothing. Matteo Moretto, a journalist for ESPN and Marca, took stock of the situation in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel.

“Xhaka is not currently on Juventus’s list. He’s not a target at the moment. Xhaka has an offer from an Arab club, discussions with Milan are stalled, and there’s been no news compared to the last few weeks,” he said (via MilanNews).

Speaking more specifically about the Rossoneri, he went on to say: “Milan didn’t even want to come close to meeting Bayer Leverkusen’s demands due to cost, age, and maturity issues: the deal is currently on hold.”

  1. It’s a pity, I think he’s just what we were missing in the middle last year, but I understand a reluctance to pay a high fee when he’d want a 3 year contract. Unfortunately, the time that would have been ideal for him is when he left Arsenal and could have replaced Kessie.

Also shows what absolute nonsense many of the transfer stories are because so many of them were making out it’s a done deal that Leverkusen would let him leave on the cheap.

  2. Ofc never close. 15m euro for 33 years player not worth. Remember biglia ? ACM pay 15m euro to lazio amd he offer nothing . Veteran player only good if free transfer or cheap like giroud ( 5m euro )

  3. let’s go for Douglas Luiz from Juventus. he wasn’t successful in Juve, but he was successful in Premier League. I’m sure that Mr Allegri will know how to use this class player. this what exactly needs AC Milan and Allegri – Douglas Luiz. Juventus ready to sell.
    .
additional to this I think that Juventus could be even ready to accept loan offer with option to buy. for AC Milan is the chance. however, the problem could be salary…

    1. Class player and I was disappointed we weren’t in for him last year…..

Then I realised the financial wizards at Juventus – the same geniuses that bankrupted the team for Ronaldo and are paying 24M per year gross for Vlahovic – are paying Douglas Luiz more than any Milan player.

He’ll be their new Aaron Ramsey.

    2. I agree, he is a good player, he was one Of AVs best players when he was there. He is a grafter and not afraid to put his foot in and can score goals. Better than a lot of the sh@te mentioned on this forum.
