Mundo Deportivo: Milan to rival Inter in pursuit of Barcelona midfielder

By Isak Möller -

Having tried to sing Ivan Rakitic in the summer of 2018, 2019 and in the January market, Milan will reportedly make another attempt for the Barcelona midfielder this summer. However, his age (32-years-old) could be an issue.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Milan are planning another attempt at signing the Croatian international, who is destined to leave Barcelona at the end of the season. In fact, he’s considered the ideal candidate for the club.

However, the Rossoneri won’t be alone in the race, as city rivals Inter and Atletico Madrid are also interested in Rakitic. Furthermore, it’s clear that CEO Ivan Gazidis prefers to invest in young players, as the report continues.

It remains to be seen if the former Arsenal will make an exception, should the opportunity to sign the midfielder arise. In the meantime, his associates are working hard to identify interesting prospects on the transfer market, wanting to be prepared.
