The derby against Inter in Australia was useful in demonstrating progress in various aspects, but it also highlighted some concerns.
As MilanNews write, Ruben Amorim emerged from the friendly in Perth with two hard-to-ignore signs: Pervis Estupinan and Yunus Musah continue to appear ill-suited to the fundamental way that he wants to play football.

The coach had asked for time to evaluate the Ecuadorian, blocking his possible sale to Aston Villa. In Perth, however, his introduction coincided with the Rossoneri’s moment of difficulty, culminating in Federico Dimarco’s goal in the 52nd minute.
Two headaches
Having come on in the 46th minute in place of Davide Bartesaghi, Estupinan immediately struggled to read situations and manage the ball. Milan lost compactness on their left flank, and Inter took the lead right at the start of the second half, originating from a move developed from the left.
The former Brighton man then concluded the match with a yellow card for a challenge through the back of Yan Bisseck that saw him emerge rather dazed. Estupinan also did not make a significant offensive contribution.
Amorim had hoped to find the player he admired as an opponent in the Premier League. Initial responses suggest that the now-stalled agreement with Aston Villa should perhaps have been exploited, before they turned to other targets.
Unlike Estupinan, Musah played for 62 minutes as Youssouf Fofana’s partner in the double pivot, showing energy and availability at times, but little ability to control the pace of the game in the middle of the park.
In Amorim’s 3-4-2-1, the two midfielders must provide orientation, vertical precision, and positional discipline, a skill that the American continues to demonstrate intermittently and with little quality. With the American it is not a question of effort but of technique.
Therefore, selling both him and Estupinan could free up space and resources for players more suited and functional to Amorim’s demands. Insisting on principle, however, risks turning two doubts into seasonal problems.

What are they still waiting for. sell them as soon as possible
Villa just signed Ruggeri because Amorim wanted to see himself how bad Estupinan is.
Nice work👌
Milan must sale Rlc musah santi leao ricci and amorim
100%
Bro, I think Amorim is a double agent for Aston Villa and wanted to save them from Estupiñán.
Must sell Musah, Estupinian, RLC, Leao, Gimenez and Ricci
Now his price further dropped… What a shame we waited too long
Surprise surprise
Get rid of this Estupishіt !
I have never seen a person with as little awareness on the pitch as Musah, he is straight up unable to look up while running with the ball, he have no clue what’s going on when he has possession, either he runs it to the dirt or he passes it in to oblivion or even misses the goal 5 meters away. I’m not trying to be harsh but he should be anywhere near a club like milan
shouldn’t*
So what I understand is that 2 players who were always struggeling with us (plus Atalanta for Musah) are…. wait for it…. struggeling ?
What a shocking information !
Congratulations Amorim. Your smart evaluation make us lose getting rid of Estupinan. Well done
Struggling to adapt over 45 mins of a meaningless friendly, in a new system with a new coach?? Yet everyone seems to think despite 33 terrible matches Ricci and Jashari need more chances!!!! Oliver, great article!!
